I ordered 2 for the game from UW site.

I have never been to a bowl game/ Georgia dome.

Can some of you people that have done this before give a newbie on how to park and the best time to get there?

Will be leaving Bham area ....

Thanks in advance.

I have one ticket and plan to go unless my anxiety level/symptoms prevent me from going! Then my husband will have to use the ticket!

I would love to find out what hotel the team is staying in and what activities they will do around Atlanta between practices so maybe I could "coincidentally" be in that area :) (and I only live about 45 minutes from Atlanta. ) I just hope the traffic and weather is decent that day for all the travelers.

You'll essentially have two options - you can park right around the stadium. There's a few "official" parking lots around the GA Dome/GWCC and plenty of..... not official ones :) Expect parking to be roughly $20, give or take a bit. You can also drive to a MARTA station that has parking (there are a few that don't) and it has free same day parking, and train rides are $2.50 each way. GA Dome/Vine City are on the East-West MARTA line. If you choose the MARTA route - I cannot stress enough how much happier you will be if you walk across the street after the game to the Vine City station as opposed to boarding at the GA Dome station. You'll be able to board and maybe even get a seat before the train gets to the rest of the herd.

If it were me - I would park somewhere else and take MARTA or Uber to the game. I'd give yourself a good 45 minutes from getting off either of those to get in, get to your seats and concessions, perhaps another 30-45 minutes if you drive and need to find a place to park.

A vendor once gave me tickets to a Falcons game. It included a parking pass. That has absolutely ruined me for regular attendance to any game. I asked that same vendor if they had any Peach Bowl tickets to give away and they laughed at me, like I had just told the funniest joke ever.

I went to the Va Tech and West Virginia games at the Dome, and MARTA is the best thing in the world for not dealing with local traffic. I suffered through the Georgia Dome station, so I would have loved to have known about the Vine City station at the time. There are several hotels close to MARTA, even far from downtown. We did someplace up in Dunwoody for Va Tech, and the Ellis downtown for West Virginia. Not having to drive and park is terrific.

See map and link. Park and ride from Holmes (W5) to Vine City (W2) Avoid Dome(W1) arriving and leaving. Especially leaving!

Did pretty much the same for the Va. Tech game and you are 100% right, it is absolutely the way to go. We stayed up in Alpharetta and hopped on MARTA at the Sandy Springs station, very easy getting in.

However, I have to say my experience was a little different coming back out than some have indicated. We knew about the Vine St. station and headed there right after the game. Didn't matter. It was still absolutely mobbed. Probably better than the Dome/Philips Arena station, but still took quite some time to get back out.

In a previous life I worked for Kinko's -- and Xerox (who we were their 2nd largest customer - after the Government) -- gave my Boss and me two tickets to the Cowboys vs Dolphins Monday Night Football in Joe Robbie Stadium -- in the Xerox Suite --- Saw Primetime on a KO Return for TD -- and ate catered food -- feet up, AC.....felt special.

Best Cuban Pork Chop Sandwich I have ever had......
