I see a 4-8 or 5-7 season for the Nutt. I think he has become mired in a no win situation, like Fran at aTm-- he has lost his team. For whatever reason bringing the hoodlum QB torpedoed his season. Other coaches bring in the gunslinger, but this one blew up in his face. I don’t think he can recover from that.

I don't know. Just when you think Nutt has lost it, he goes and has a good season. Ole Miss has some talent on their roster. The just played bad last year. I think they'll have a decent chance to beat Auburn and Georgia this year. Alabama has to go over there too so we better be ready for a tussle. Nutt teams always play us hard no matter what. I think they'll beat UK on the road too.

BYU -- L
S. Illinois -- W
@Vandy -- L (I know, new coach and all at Vandy, and different circumstances, but since 2005, Vandy is 4-2 against Ole Miss)
Georgia -- L
@Fresno St -- W
Alabama -- L
Arkansas -- L
@Auburn -- L (only because of the @, if it was in Oxford, I might give the Black Bears :rolleyes:the edge)
@Kentucky -- L (not sure about this...I think I give UK the edge because it's in Lexington)
La Tech -- W
LSU -- L (don't put it past Les to do something boneheaded, or Nutt to pull something brilliant, in Baton Rouge it was a shoot out last year, but I still give LSU the win)
@Miss St -- L (Mullen will have Ole Miss's number again, and will as long as he is in Starkville)

I wouldn't give Ole Siss that much. I'd say that even Vandy and Fresno State are toss ups.

I think Ole Miss has a good chance to beat Auburn this year even if it is at AU. Auburn has a ridiculous schedule in September and October. They play Clemson, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU and Florida. Ole Miss gets them on the tail end of that stretch. Auburn won't be nearly as good as last year. Anything can happen IMO.

It is interesting that if you were to peruse the Ole Miss boards, most posters would defend him, make excuses, and say that in the end they are darn proud to have him as their head coach. He seems to have the Black Bear faithful hypnotized.

He's got them all drinking the Kool-Aid in Oxford, just like he did in the early years at Arkansas. I hope they keep him since they are happy.

I was thinking the same things, that Nutt will surprise us this year. But then I took a closer look at last year. They did not just play bad, they played really, really bad, losing to Jax State and Vandy (which was their only conference win.) I think the wheels have fallen off. We will see. Maybe Houston can pull another rabbit out of the hat.

I'm not expecting too much, but perhaps some improvement. Losing Tracy Rocker as D Line coach hurt *bad* last year. See: Rebs' DLine play in '10 v. in 09. Ty Nix as DC was an epic bad hire. His Ds have deterioriated yearly everywhere he's been (USM, USC, now Rebs). Losing the OC from 09 hurt bad too. On the plus side for the Rebs, Nutt crushed Mullet in recruiting this year, so perhaps the future looks better, but they've had some talent along the way. Still gotta coach 'em up.

I think Ole Miss loses to Fresno at Fresno. Fresno is almost always a tough, physical, smash mouth team. Not saying they're a great team but that's going to be a real dog fight.

I agree 100% with ya..Nutt seems to thrive when he's under pressure too win & save his job..Then when his team is picked fairly high..His teams stumble out the gate & never recovers..
