I seem to remember a number of you guys predicting we were going to destroy Mississippi St something like 45-0 and such. That didn't happen. I think it was a very good win but our offense wasn't as great as many think. I don't think we're going to destroy Auburn either (I hope we do though). I think this game will be a bit closer... something like 31-23. I am hoping we play this game like we did against Florida in 2009 but not sure how it will go. We should win by more than a score but I guess we'll see.

Anyone got any material from their boards for the score projections? I have looked at two of their boards and have not found anything but I am not a ITAT member. Just looking for a general feeling.

As far as my own prediction goes, I am sticking close to the consensus and saying:
Bama 31
Barn 13
Most of the fan predictions are Auburn by a field goal, but there are two or three that have us winning by 10 to 14. I'm not on ITAT, I saw the predictions on AUFAMILY.

I'm not going to pick a score yet.

Auburn can win this game. Alabama's defense has had fits in the past containing triple option type attacks, which it really all that Auburn runs. Alabama has to maintain discipline and not allow the emotions of the game to allow mistakes. Have no doubt that mistakes will be made and Auburn will gain yards.

But Alabama has been in big games and to win this game, the mistakes will have to be made on offense and defense. It seems hard to believe that Auburn can hold Alabama to below 28 points. But we also thought that of Mississippi State. Alabama will have to be -2 or -3 in turnover margin again for this to be a close game. I've got to think that Alabama will emphasize protecting the ball, and Alabama can win by 2+ scores.

It's going to be a hard fought game, and closer than most here seem to believe. BUT I felt that way about LSU and we dominated.

Auburn will be hyped up beyond belief and it will be paramount to keep turnovers and mistakes to a minimum. I think back to how we stonewalled their offense in 2010 during the first half. Injuries caught up to us in that game, but I believe we can keep Auburn's offense in check provided we don't give them a short field due to coverage on kicks or turnovers.

AJ needs to have a "Heisman" game. If he does, it won't be close.

My predictions for Rivalry week

Bama- 35
Auburn-21

Tied at half time, then Bama pulls away late 3rd and dominates in 4th. McCarron > Marshall and not even close.
:BigA:

Clemson-35
Cockys- 28

I had free tickets to this game, but I heard at WB they spit and throw ice at you.

How is AU going to protect the middle of the field. OJ could have a MONSTER game as could Amari and Kevin. Short slow lbs could be a big liability for the Barn. Think slant routes and seeing 88 blaze to the end zone again :)

42-17 Bama

I think they run some plays outside of what they've shown all season, and maybe catch us slipping. But by halftime, we will have settled down and made adjustments, and business as usual.

My Auburn coworker asked me for a prediction. Told him I wasn't going to do one. He gave me his. Here's the exchange:

Aub: "I say 45-38 Auburn. It'll be in the upper 30's for sure."
Me: smirk comes across my face
Aub: "Go on with your smirk on your face. What?"
Me: "You honestly expect to score 45 on us when A&M scored 42 and our defense wasn't as good as now? Our DBs weren't as experienced, nor was our DL."

He just fumbled his words and tried to change the topic.

I'm seeing a hybrid of the 1999 and 2001 games. Bama won 28-17 in 1999 and 31-7 in 2001. I'll say......Bama 34 auburn 15

31-17...and I'm stretching the 13. I can see Aubbie getting a score early, but after adjustments, that will stop. This kind of offense will stall since they really can only run and not pass consistently.
