Now that it is safe to respond................

Our DEs are maybe the best in the nation and we will apply pressure to any Bama passing attack.
Sure, it is possible aTm's DEs are the best in the nation. However, since they are probably the products of Texas HS football, that is not anything certain.

Our HS team racks up over 600 yards, in offense, and usually limits the other team to less than 500 yards, and wins by some ridiculous score of 56-21.

That isn't football. But, that is Texas HS football, as it is played today.

So, while they are probably good, since you have a good chance of getting the top HS players, saying they are the best is possibly a tad optimistic.

We shall see how good they are.

Bama's defense holds aTm to 23. Bama's offense holds Bama's offense to 27. That's the way I'm approaching all of them now. Have no confidence in the play calling, execution, nothing. Bama has the talent to barely outscore everyone they play the rest of the way. A win is a win. Just hope they don't give any more away.

One of their starting DEs, Myles Garrett, as a recruit was rated a 5 star by Scout, and was #4 on the ESPN 300. Some guy named Nick Saban offered him a scholarship.

I realize different opponents, personnel and defensive schemes make a true apples-to-apples comparison difficult, but so far this season, his stats (total tackles; tackles for loss; sacks) are comparable to if not better than Robinson's and Reed's.

So, he sounds like the kind of player we can take lightly based on his HS location and performance year-to-date...

The F-Kid is already over on his home board, complaining about the moderation over here, which I predicted. Over the years, I've wondered at these drive-by rival fans who don't seem to be able to understand that our environment is different and it's the way we prefer it or we wouldn't be here. They come in like a bull in a china shop and just don't seem to be able to comprehend. This particular one started throwing in stats on games he hadn't even reviewed - not aware that the bulk of OM passing came on a clearly illegal play or that almost half of UGA's running came on one busted coverage on a running play in garbage time. (Or that ARK's sole TD came as a direct result of a soccer-style flop by the HC.) Not knocking our younger posters (some of our most mature posters are younger than you might think), but most of these drive-bys are very young. I've actually had a few tell me that it's just no fun, if you can't talk smack. Oh well, we'll deal with them one at a time...

Very well could be. No idea who any of their players are, other than the ones that went to our HS. (Which won 3 consecutive championships, and has now won 51 straight games, which is a record.) I only watch their games when we play them. Of course, someone could have "coached them up". A distinct possibility, with a new DC.

But, we see what happens when teams like TCU and Baylor put them in the same scheme they play in HS.

Chavis is now their DC (TN & LSU). That man is about as good as they get. If there is talent on the defensive side of the ball, he is going to find it and make it better.

This is the one game I picked us to lose before the season started because of the scheduling quirks. We have played back to back weeks against solid teams, while they were off last week. Add to that the fact that we have to travel, and it is a big challenge for our guys. Defensively, we have struggled against teams that play their style of offense (other than against them last year), and we have struggled a lot on offense this year. Add to that our struggles in the kicking game, and they would seem to have everything on their side. However, if we can play smart and protect the ball, we can win. Bama 27 A&M 24!

Agree and if anybody knows how to defense a CNS team it is Coach Chavis. He will get the most out of his defense which may be a little thin, but don't think we are just going to hand the ball to our RBs all day and win. Win or lose will be on the OL and the secondary.

We play better on the road than at home I believe. Their defense isn't great against the run and we can run it pretty good. If we don't spot them 2 Ints and 2 missed FG in the first half, I think we win.

38-17 Bama. aTm offense gets their points but their defense gets pounded into submission and we pull away in the 4th quarter.
