We are visiting family for Thanksgiving but will be going through Tuscaloosa on Saturday on our way back. I will try to get some tickets but if not where could we watch the game. I figure if we cant get in I still want to be in T-Town for the party. Any ideas?

Any place on The Strip! Last season, they had a jumbo-tron set out on The Quad for the tailgaters, but for undisclosed reasons the gameday event staff no longer includes that feature. However, you can also watch the game (for free) at the Student Services Center (I believe that's what it is called).

Got Kids? - Buffalo Phils
Got no kids? Houndstooth

As long as your on the strip, you will have no problem figuring things out.

It should be quite the scene. Hope you have fun.

The Ferguson Center (Student Services is across the plaza, but same area of campus) does show the games for free in the theater. It's actually not bad if you have a family. The food court is open so you can get food there and watch it on a big screen. Not my choice of venues because I'd rather go to the Houndstooth, but for a family it might not be a bad option.

As a former student a few good places besides the above mentioned are:

The Red Shed- located on the strip across the street from the tooth. They are also doing some radio broadcast from there also on friday. Great place to watch the game.
Innisfree-downtown. They also are bulding a new one next to hooligans away from the strip towards downtown.
Johnnys Pub and Grub- Downtown
Wilhagens-Downtown.

Also an update for everyone they are in the process of building a new booth. Should be reopening soon.

pretty much anywhere is gonna be PACKED. i think it would be sheer lunacy to go to tuscaloosa this weekend if you dont have tickets. parking will be a nightmare, anywhere worth going will have a line out the door. the only reason id go without tickets would be to watch the game with friends and even then id probably just get a 12 pack at publix and stay at their apartment. but nevertheless and all that, the houndstooth would probably be the most fun.

What?!?! I have heard nothing of this. Why would the University pay all of that $ to buy the property only to put a bar back in it's place? Makes no sense....:conf2:
They aren't going to put it back in the same place. The owner of the Booth is going to open another bar somewhere else. The last I heard, he was looking for a new location downtown.
