Please don't move this moderators. It isn't going to kill you to have 1 basketball message on the open forum. This is a very important one to because if we don't wake up as Bama fans, we're going to be outnumbered in Coleman Coliseum against Mississippi State. I pleaded to the board to go out and buy tickets to this 1 game because it's on ESPN and if we have a repeat of last year we are going to be a laughingstock. We've got an incredible basketball program that deserves to play in front of numerous sellouts, especially against a heated rival like MSU. Please buy tickets to this one game and give them to a fellow Bama fan if you don't use them. If we don't go get tickets soon, they will have bought up all the tickets. They are bragging about how they are buying tickets left and right to the game and Alabama fans are too busy with football to take the time it takes to get to Coleman to buy basketball tickets. Speaking of that, next week's Auburn game will be a great time to swing by the ticket office to get tickets to that game if you haven't already. Even a better idea would be to call the Alabama Ticket office tommorrow and go ahead and reserve a couple of tickets to the game. Seriously, it's very important.
Having said all that, isn't it funny how a little success will make fans so arrogant?! Outside of a nice run by MSU in the late 50s/early 60s (?) and 1 Final Four appearance (compared to an Elite 8 and about 8 to 10 Sweet 16 appearances for Bama), we have a much stronger basketball history than they do. Yes, we're a little slow out of the gate interest wise when football is still going strong, but we've had strong crowds for most conference games through the years especially when we've had good teams. I remember back as recently as the early 90s when playing MSU at home was like playing Vandy in football. We use to beat their teams like red headed stepchildren. Now they're knocking on Coleman. My how a little success changes people.
Thanks for listening and go ahead and call the ticket office tommorrow and reserve a couple of tickets.
