Plenty of Empty Seats in Upper Deck End Zone Student Section

This thread happens every year. Every year we do this:

Those that want the students moved need to get over it. It won't happen unless you raise enough cane. The argument goes both ways. It's pointless argument at this point. I can promise the student section will rocking come November 5.

That's totally untrue. There are a LOT of students who don't have access to tickets that would love to have them. Getting rid of block seating would solve a lot of the problem. I suggest selling unused student tickets once the game has started.

How would block seating solve the problem? The people sitting in block seating still have to buy tickets.

And all of those things created a massive waiting list for Tide Pride membership, AND the increase in Tide Pride membership allowed for an increase in the student ticket allotment.

You are right only Tide Pride members should be able to attend games. They are much better fans anyways.

Uhhh... YES , when by the actions of the students not filling their seats prove its not that important to them.
It's not like we are suggesting taking all of the students seats.... Just the number that was allotted to them during the last expansion since they obviously don't like the upper deck.

This argument is so stupid. People who take the time to post on this message board are not going to be the students OR tide pride members who choose to leave their seats empty. For the record, I was an out-of-state student at the university until graduation last spring. The point is that the last section to fill up is the top portion of the upper-deck, so yes if there are say 1,000 students that choose not to attend the game then it will be noticeable because they are all in the same place. However, if there are 1,000 tide pride members who choose not to attend the game, they will be spread throughout the stadium, so there is no way to compare the two.

Once again most everyone who gets on here to post is probably a very loyal attendee of the games to which they have tickets so the argument is somewhat moot in this setting.

In regards to the student section, maybe BAMA should do what Texas A&M does, have students pull tickets the week of the game. You go to the ticket office and pick up a physical ticket. My wife said it worked well and they let each person bring 4 ID's so you could easily sit with your friends. You buy the season package at the start of the season which guarantees a ticket. Grad students & Seniors can pull starting on Monday, Juniors starting on Tuesday, Sophomores starting on Wednesday & Freshman starting on Thursday. Starting Friday at noon all "unpulled" tickets are released for sale. Students who didn't buy season tix or the general public can buy them. I remember at the end of the Fran era you would see the 3rd deck either empty or full of the visiting fans in the case of when they played UT.

In regards to the block seating, if a group has a spot assigned for 100 people, they are given 100 tickets. (They can dispense them however they choose.)

I must say I REALLY, REALLY like this idea. So the question is, instead of posting another thread like this when we play Georgia Southern, and then another next year when we play Ole Miss, what can be done by the tidefans posters to see something changed? Someone posted earlier that obviously all the people who care enough to post on here are not the problem. Since we have 7 pages worth of posters who care about empty seats, how do we "raise enough cane" to have things changed?
