This is the crux of the problem.
Thirty percent of the country believes this garbage because Fox News has been broadcasting this lie for over twenty years. To make matters worse, the people who watch Fox refuse to read a newspaper because Fox also tells them that ALL newspapers are part of the socialist left. These people never stop to consider how many journalists and scientists would have to be part of the conspiracy. It is beyond stupid.
Literally the entire Trump base is brainwashed into not believing anything that doesn't fit with the Trump agenda. All he has to do is call something he doesn't like fake news and the entire cult believes him. How convenient, except democracy doesn't work without the press or education of the public.
Well said. The real irony is that they are the ones that allowed the politicians to chain the scientists and the people. Hell, half still want to overturn the results of the last election and install Trump as dictator.
ftr I read fox, cnn, reuters, msnbc, and abc. Fox's non opinion anchors aren't that conservative either. I am not talking about Hannity or Carlson, they have political commentary shows. I am also critical of Trump on a few issues and really don't like his rhetoric. I know a lot of people that are the same way.
