Political Meme - Cartoon/Joke Thread...Part XXVI

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

It's simply not theft. It's a more like a large insurance pool to keep you from being destitute. This allows people who for some reason or another who couldn't pay into SS for their entire lives to be covered. We simply can't have huge portions of our population that cannot work or spouses who didn't work to raise children be without income in their retirement years.

The wealthy also have for many years have had their contribution limited at a very low income threshold as well.

Should the outcome be better? Yes. Will that be allowed with the groups like ALEC and Billionaires running our government? Absolutely not. They want you poor and working for them as long as possible, with as little benefits as possible. See drown our government in a bathtub comments ad nauseam.

I entertain myself by asking an atheist what year they think it is. Personally I am agnostic and say what you want about that, but the one thing we agnostic have over the uber religious and atheists is we are more open minded.
My entire adult life I have been agnostic, but I’m pretty open-minded, too. Truth be told, I am currently taking RCIA classes at church because I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately. The classes are a formality, of course. The real education (for me) comes from scripture and the writings of the church fathers. There is an absolute treasure trove of theology and philosophy just waiting to be read for those who want it.

It's simple. We all came from the same universal consciousness and we'll all return to it. In fact, we never lose contact with it. This is not me talking. This is what many quantum physicists are saying...
