I get your point, but they're not comparable as one is literally a funnel for information to an actual state actor who is our enemy. While we can argue over how much an oligarch can damage our country, there's zero question China is imminently more capable of the destruction of the US.

Do we really have to go through the taxes aren’t stealing argument because we all need and use much of the stuff that is paid for by the taxes again, again? Social security taxes are not theft. Transportation taxes are not theft. Defense budget funded from taxes aren’t theft. Etc. Etc.

Not really anymore. More nations fall from internal issues than from outside attack. There is nothing that China can really do to harm the nation that we don’t allow by our policies.

A much bigger question concerns people replacing TikTok with RedNote and Lemon8 which are both Red Chinese 'owned'. Lemon8 is owned by ByteDance that also owns TikTok

No surprise that as the social media companies get richer, get bigger, get bought out, get old, the same controlling/profit-is-the-only-important-thing behavior comes out from their governance, board and CEOs that we've been fighting/subjected to by the ruling classes for the last several millennia.
