Just got home from the game, the stood thing really stood out to me was the adjustments we made at half. We turned up the intensity, d-line was a lot more active in the 2nd half.
I agree with this 100%. It seems like we consistently struggled coming out of the half last year. We put our foot on the gas coming out of the half tonight. Great half time adjustments, and great increase in intensity.

Another thing I enjoyed- seeing OJ Howard touch the ball more.

And finally, I thought we did a great job going after the QB tonight.

Overall a good effort against a well coached ranked team. I never felt the game was in doubt.

JC played ok overall. CB played ok but I would like to see him get some more reps with the full game plan. Splitting reps between 2 instead of 3 or more will help both of them. Especially on the long ball timing.

D played very well overall. Especially the run D. Pass D needs some work and will get better.

Oline played very well overall. Penalties will get straightened out.

RB's are baaaad. Good bad.

Receivers did a good job. They will get better with experience.

Special teams are a big concern. We have a great guy with a great story at PK, but a some point you have to produce. I don't know if it's physical or mental but something is off and it may cost us a win.
I hope the punter just had an off night for once. Maybe he read too many press clippings.
Kick return team-I don't know what to say. I would just tell them anything that's kicked in the end zone DO NOT RETURN IT! Starting at the 25 is OK.
Punt return was ok. I wish we didn't use starting CB and Drake on kick returns.

Lots of room for improvements but still a good win.

As soon as I heard he was part of the new lineup, I swore it off - I'll not watch it, and what you shared here simply cements that decision. JG is literally stupid. I mean it, and not just based on what you relayed here - he's a stupid human being. Low IQ, unintelligent. I refuse to waste my time listening to stupid people talk.
Moved up to Pleasant Dale, NE a few months ago (just about a spitting distance from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, I mean it's a 10 minute drive from I am living), and I having casual conversation some Cornhusker fans at the local bar. (Feels good to talk college football without getting my blood pressure up, because there are none of East GA fans here, as far as I know). And on the t.v. in the bar they had the show and I caught wind of it. That's the only reason why I mention his list, otherwise, I will watch NOTHING about college football on ESPN since they can't do it right.

Thank you. This is what I have been saying on here for years. I do not watch any of the ESPN pre or post game segments or week day CFB commentary and no longer watch Game Day.

I watched all of the Bama game and a great majority of the TCU and Auburn games. I can't say we showed the complete dominance needed to put us in OSU territory, but absolutely no way should we be below the barn and TCU. Not at this point. Did Galloway's list continue past #5? Where was Bama--or where would Bama be--on his list?? Would he put Stanford above us? Did he draw team names out of a hat for his list? Wow.

On the positive and more relevant side for this thread, I think it is incredible to have our 2nd and 3rd string players get a quarter's worth of game action against a top 20 team like Wisconsin. Less than a handful of other teams would even dream about getting their subs that kind of experience. It's not flashy for the final scoreboard, but the future is brightened and risk for starters is mitigated. It's just the way CNS does it. And I'm very happy he's our coach.

I respectfully disagree. I think we showed we are in OSU territory, but the question is if OSU is in OSU territory?

Our game last night wasn't as close as it seemed.

Agreed! I couldn't say it any better myself.

Great opening effort. Very pleased with QB play from Coker and Bateman. Frankly, I see why the competition is ongoing. Avoiding the obvious, 3rd down D is still concerning. Some young DB's have to polish their game. But even though we gave up a few passing yards they didn't come easy for Whisky tonight. Also only 44 yards total rushing, which included a few sacks. There was also a lot of pressure on the QB and some knockdowns at the line. Need to stamp out penalties and mental mistakes, but those things will improve hopefully. There's a lot of potential in this team and some work to get there, but I am pretty optimistic after this game.
Great post. I agree 100%.
After only the 1st game of the season, I'm not at all concerned about what kind of ranking some idiot talking head gives the Tide or any other team. It will all work out as the season progresses.

Your team was the best that I saw in the trenches on both sides of the ball in week one. That bodes well for your season.

As for Gameday Final - I get to go to bed earlier this year as I don't see myself sitting though an hour of their idiocy.

People, people, people, you were all warned about this! Don't watch it. They took a Great show & turned it into a Jerry Springer Show. Your reactions are what they are counting on at ESPN.

I couldn't get thru to my daughter about it & now rather than enjoying a Great Win, she's talking about this idiot.
BTW when he was in Tampa he was a little cry baby no one liked.

Yeah, I feel very good about the game overall, but I'd feel even better if he had made those two F/G attempts. We're gonna need them down the road. Apparently Scott just had an off night.
Maybe Jerry told JK that if he broke the video board he'd have to pay for it.

Some of you must have thought Bama was going to win 56-0 and not allow a single yard.

It was the first game of the season. Alabama played some true freshmen on the DL and secondary and redshirt freshmen on the OL, LB, and secondary. There was sure to be some "learning experiences."

Was the game ever in doubt? Nope.

Did Alabama dominate the game? Yep.

Let's just shut down the message board then. No need for discussion.

I believe I've seen somebody say that before. ;)
