Can you Image the SEC Champ being a 9 seed? 🤔 So much for Quad 1 wins and strength of schedule.

After listening to the logic from this committee.....I don't see them jumping us that high. I could see them leaving us below Oklahoma no matter what we do.
Well, whether we agree with their logic or not, we did lose last week so we opened ourselves up to falling.

However, if we win out and win the SECCG, there's no way we aren't a top 4. Even if Georgia wins out, as the team that beat them and then won the regular season, we should have the highest SEC bid.

I'd say the same if it were any other team with only 1 conference loss.

If we finish 11-2, winning the SEC......we will not be in the top 4.....without upsets ahead of us.

This committee has us behind Notre Dame. We will stay behind Oklahoma. We won't jump Texas Tech.

Your reasoning doesn’t hold water on “we lost to Oklahoma”. UGA lost to us as did TAMU in your scenario. No way this happens without the SEC & ESPN going nuclear on the whole playoffs next year

Again, losing has consequences (that's why we are behind OU and Georgia, currently...don't understand the ND thing admittedly).

But winning does too. No way after we (assuming) win 3 games we don't jump OU and ND and probably Georgia too.

If winning the SECCG doesn't get us a top 4 seed, like Snuffy said the whole thing will have to be blown up and start all over!

I didn't watch the rankings show last night, so I have no idea what the committee's justification was for putting ND ahead of us, but beating Auburn in JHS I think would move us ahead of them before the SECCG, which I think is a big deal. If we don't move ahead of them, then I think there is a scenario where we could get left out of the playoff if we lose the SECCG and Texas Tech loses to BYU in the Big 12 championship game.

I didn't either but it was all over X.

Basically, the chairman made some lousy explanation that ND's loses were better than ours. Praised ATM for coming back to beat USCe but criticized us for having to do so.

It's like they didn't even recognize the 4 straight wins against ranked teams.

The guy comes off sounding like a complete moron. It’s sad what has become of college football in so many ways, but how it decides its post season has become the worst. For everyone who hated the bowls and the polls, what we are doing now with this committee of political buffoons is so much worse in every possible way.

The SEC champ will be no worse than a top 4 seed. Most likely 2nd behind undefeated BIG 10 champ. No way SEC champion can not get a first round bye. That is why the reward out weighs the risk in playing that game.
Agree. If we win out and win the SEC, we would get a bye. UGA had two losses last year, won the SEC and got a bye. I don't see a scenario where we host a game.

ND being ahead of us just really bothers me. The committee is saying that we don't care who teams beat, we care about how they lose and ND had two good losses and Alabama had one good loss and one bad loss, and that's all we care about. Or what they are saying is that what happened most recently is most important. Either way, it's a terrible look and an equally terrible reason.

I hear Charlie Brown's teacher every time he speaks. I stopped listening.

Not only that but the chairman also criticized us for not running the ball well in the last 3 games while ignoring the defense only giving up 259 YPG and 16 PPG
