I am a huge Pete Carroll fan, but right now Saban is doing more with a lot less talent than we have at USC and I think that is what is so dissappointing to all of us USC fans is that we have a superior team that continues to lose to inferior opponents.

You can't help but be totally impressed that Saban is doing what he is doing at this stage his tenure. He is one of the best in cfb and will no doubt be in the hunt for the BcS title for the next five or so years.


Saban has already proven himself at LSU, and now at Alabama in only his second year. They are both meant to be college coaches.

LOL @ them. "Does Carroll finally have a challenger for top coach", give me a break. PC hasn't pulled himself away from the pack that much lol.


Anyways, I feel like Saban was the top coach before he left to Miami(as did many others) and I feel his experience there only made him better. I don't know what the season holds for us, but the future will be amazing with Coach Saban.

CPC is a excellent recruiter but so-so in other aspects of the game.

I've always thought Texas should have sent him a NC ring after his bonehead coaching moves in 4th quarter of their championship game seemed to propel the longhorns to victory. :conf2:

The biggest 4th down play of the season (for USC) and Reggie Bush is watching on the sidelines. :eek2:

I don't consider USC fans to be all that knowledgeable about football so I can't say their praise or opinion on CNS carries all that much weight. Now if I was filming a movie...

CPC gives his players way too much freedom. I always get the feeling he's just telling them to "go get 'em" with no plan or forethought. Too many I's on that team for my liking and that is a direct reflection on the head coach.

The season is still young and the Tide needs to win a BCS bowl level game.

I am sorry, but was I dreaming about the games against (at the time) #8 Clemson @ GA Dome and @ #3 UGA?!?!!!!

Sounds to me that USC needs a BCS bowl level game besides Ohio St, oh wait they had one against...oh wait that was PAC 10 #NR OR St....

Oregon State lost to Utah last night. That drops them to 2-3, with one of their wins being over the trojans. And another PA(theti)C-10 loss to the Mountain West...

Actually, many of their fans are very knowledgeable. The problem is with the fans that all schools have that jump on the bandwagon when their team is winning. They are the ones who make us all look like idiots and are usually the loudest ones when it comes to fanning the flames.

USC is not a team that I hate. They are one of the traditional powers that football just wouldn't be right without.

That being said, I hope they lose every time they line up, except against the barn, and their bandwagon fans can all go jumpl into the San Andreas Fault.

While I'm sure it's partly true, I think some of it also has to do with the environment out here. The city of Los Angeles doesn't know the concept of team, it's all about the "me". JMO, and I think I've been out here long enough to have had time to formulate one.

Humbly disagree. Living up here in the Pacific Northwest and spending time around the West Coast I have to say that the average college football fan up here doesn't have the same level of passion and knowledge of the game as we have in the SEC. You can take a nap at most Pac-10 games and no one will wake you up until it's time to turn the lights off. Fans up here are conditioned to quickly switch from one sport to the next when things aren't going well. The intimate knowledge of the finer aspects of the game just doesn't exist. I'd say that generalization pertains to the Pac-10 as a whole. I have 2 brothers in different Pac-10 schools (one of whom transferred from LSU but both of whom have attended SEC games regularly) who agree that there's no comparison in terms of fan passion and knowledge.

Either way I still feel like an Alabama fan going to a USC forum to read a football opinion is a bit like a doctor asking a mechanic if the appendix needs to be removed.

I haven't lived in the Northwest but I have lived in several parts of L.A. and one of those places was one block north of the USC campus. Hence my opinion about USC fans and why I spend time on their boards.
Why I stated that most are knowledgeable is due to the fact that when I lived at USC, they were not playing well. 1996 and 1997 years. These are the fans that I spent my time with discussing football and not the fans that jumped on the bandwagon since their rebirth.

Just like in Bama's case, I think that it's "good" for college football for U$C to be strong.
