VJ was one of my all-time favorites from my more active days on TF. He had such a fantastic sense of humor, a cut-the-crap pragmatism that I appreciated, and he was a clear thinker who lacked all pretension. We had a lot of interactions on Facebook over the years before I walked away from that morass of histrionics and I will always recall him as a man who steadfastly loved his family and friends and knew himself, his values, and the direction of his own moral compass. He had a lot of strength and I'm sad today to read of his passing, but I know he's in the hereafter watching us still here futzing around, and having a good chuckle over our misadventures.
