"Proof" of "cheating" that goes on by the refs on Bama's home games. (Video Link)

You would think when you went to church you'd be greeted by folks who were there with you to put the things of this world aside for several hours and worship together in good fellowship. Not be greeted with a youtube clip from a still scorned LSU fan of "proof" that the refs "cheat" for Bama.

I watched it and told him I really don't know why the ref moved the ball up. I don't remember seeing it but I would hope there was more to this than a ref taking it upon himself to move the ball forward a few yards just to help bama. Does anyone know anything about this? I didn't see it so I'm lost.

I remember seeing that and wondering "what is he doing?" I have to admit I found it odd.

I think maybe the umpire, closer to the hash, had marked the "official" spot and the linesman was moving the ball to match where he had put his foot down. It did look a bit odd, though, since you couldn't see the umpire's feet.

I remember that and wondered about it too. The only thing I can think of is that right after he's handed the ball, he looks towards the middle of the field. There might be another ref out of the picture holding the spot with his foot and this guy's just putting it on that spot.

Same here, but never considered that he did it for any unscrupulous reason. I did find it odd, though.

Another ref on the far side might have the spot marked and he is lining up with that ref. Second the spot on the 32 might be the correct spot; we would have to see the play before we could really make an unbiased comment.

The guy says the play ended at the "31 1/4" and then says the official places it "close to the 32" and says we got "a whole yard out of that".

Great math department they have at LSU.

I agree we need to see the whole picture before coming to any conclusion. and he needs proof the guy was cheating rather than just made a mistake before slandering somebody.

I remember thinking when he first put his foot down that he had in fact given Bama a terrible spot according to what had actually happened during the play. I think the announcers said something similar. Then when he finally put the ball down he put where it actually should have been spotted.

No, Alabama did not deserve a first down on that play. I was surprised at the spot, the way it was spotted, and that Ole Miss did not have the spot reviewed. If it had been reviewed, I am certain that Alabama would have been punting.

Interesting that the maker of the video didn't show the whole play as well as the placement. While the ref looks odd, it's taken completely out of context (as I'm sure it was intended to make it interesting) it was definitely a first down as the rb (Lacy wasn't it?) was well over the 1st down marker. Hardly cheating.

i find it odd that a lsWHO fan points out BAMA gettin help from the official...what about the pass interference in the end zone a few years back (where a lsWHO player shoves our guy outta the way, in front of a ref; and then proceeds to make the interception); or last year in the lsWHO vs ALABAMA game where there was simulataneous possession by ALABAMA (OFFENSE) and lsWHO (defense) and the refs give lsWHO the int...which is NOT the right call...I'd Love to hear the LOSERana fans explain that.

THIS. I remember the play and thinking "BAD spot" as Lacy clearly had the first down. The ref moved it to where it was SUPPOSED to be.

I remember thinking it was a horrible spot by the ref as well and he eventually put the ball where it should have been. IMO he looked behind him to gauge where he thought the ball should go, not because he wanted to make sure Bama got a a first down.

And what about the non existent PI call on us during their first scoring drive. Do they have a video of that as well to prove bias?
