Except for the punting being inconsistent, I thought our kicking game was good this year. I was very pleased with how the freshmen kickers did. I think we only missed a couple of FGs all year and hit a few long ones. However I've never been a fan of putting your offensive stars returning kicks. Jones and Richardson are too important to our offense. I'd rather see Lacey and Goode back there. They are talented RBs and would do well. Maybe Hanks. Give those guys a chance to contribute a little more without risking one of your main playmakers on offense. Personally, I think Goode and Hanks would be dangerous return guys.

Both our kickers, both our punters, our holder.,.all freshmen.. Our long snapper...he's a sophomore. These guys will get better with time. Kickoff & punt returning is a special skill, indeed. Gauging gunner speeds, reading lanes, etc. We'll find our guy
I agree, they are very young, next year will see an big improvement.

Punting and place kicking are two different situations. We all know that. I do hope he gets better, I know he didn't punt the last punt on purpose, I just wanted to win the game and as we were lineing up to punt I felt we could still find a way. It was our last chance.

Reminds me of the 73 Sugar Bowl.

mlh,
I'm not being obtuse, I'm honestly curious. What returner has gotten injured in the last 10 years - not just slow to get up, but missing a game or something? Not just at Alabama, but anywhere. I cannot remember one.

You know a guy named Reggie Bush? Ask New Orleans if that one has hurt them this year.

I don't really follow the NFL. But, there is one, I guess. I'm sure there have been more simply because it's football. I just don't remember seeing any.
