Anyone have information about Greg. A lot of us are concerned and would like to know. I figured TIDEFANS would get info quicker than mainstream media.
Coach Saban said he had a "pretty good" concussion, but would be OK.Anyone have information about Greg. A lot of us are concerned and would like to know. I figured TIDEFANS would get info quicker than mainstream media.
This one was a pretty good one - he was out cold, and stayed out cold for a good long while. And this was his second this season. The more you get, the more at risk you are to get more in the future, and the greater the likelihood of future concussions being more serious. I do think he'll be OK, but I wouldn't be shocked if concern is increasing among those who are in a position to be concerned - family, trainers, etc.He has a month to recover before the bowl game. So I'm sure he'll be good to go. I'm glad its nothing more serious (even though concussions are very serious business).
I don't think it has anything to do with Greg "proving" anything, but the fact is, he's earned the job. I know AJ was thrown into a fire today but he's had some chances this year that he could have played better as well. If healthy, Greg will get the start and hopefully will get to rest early and reflect on a great career at Alabama while AJ gets some good mop-up experience in preparation for a good spring competition.AJ should be played in the bowl game instead of G. McElroy IMO, Greg has nothing left to prove and it would further AJ's experience for next year. I would think it not worthy to subject Greg to more injury, smart as he is he will be a CEO in an NFL headquarters somewhere not getting his brains beat out on a football field. JMHO
I agree. Let A.J. play and get some experience. Why risk Gregs future now. He has a bright future ahead of him. I'm sure he'll feels that he needs to finish the season out but it would really help A.J. to get to play unlike what they let him do in the Ga. State game.AJ should be played in the bowl game instead of G. McElroy IMO, Greg has nothing left to prove and it would further AJ's experience for next year. I totally agree that Greg has earned the right but win or lose at the very least let AJ start the 2nd half. i would hate for Ingram or Julio to risk getting hurt this close to the money.i think gmac should play a half and then aj should play the second half. greg has earned the right to start his last game. however we also need to get aj some quality playing time to prep him for next yr. we arent playing for a championship so score and situation doesnt matter. play each a half and everyone gets what they need out of it.
im more worried about ingram playing. i remember a few yrs ago we had a snr rb tear his knee up in one of the last games of the yr. it probably cost him $100,000's when that happened. it would make me sick if something like that happened to ingram (and jnr's who are leaving early), or any of our seniors
You don't play football either as a coach or as a player worrying about getting hurt. You don't "save" players during bowl games just because they have a NFL future. You play the players you have to play to win the game.I totally agree that Greg has earned the right but win or lose at the very least let AJ start the 2nd half. i would hate for Ingram or Julio to risk getting hurt this close to the money.
I think there are insurance policies already in effect for MI/JJ.I totally agree that Greg has earned the right but win or lose at the very least let AJ start the 2nd half. i would hate for Ingram or Julio to risk getting hurt this close to the money.

Really made my stomach turn when I seen his eyes in the back of his head when they zoomed in on him.
Totally agree with you, scared me to death when I saw his eyes. God-bless Greg and here's to a speedy recovery. :BigA:

All of these players have a loyalty to their team and teammates. I would think and hope that players like MI and JJ would want to play as much as needed to help THEIR team win the final game of the season.
McElroy got us to the bowl game and deserves to play if healthy. A bowl game is a reward for a team who had a successful season. The more you watch our offense the more you realize just how much McElroy actually meant to our offense. At many times this year he appeared to be the only leader on the team (either side of the ball).AJ should be played in the bowl game instead of G.
