The psychologist from Good Will Hunting?Sean Maguire, correct?
here is the deal with that if you dont sign your first year in baseball you have to wait three years to be drafted again, now if im wrong ill be quickly updated. also he has stated if he likely to red-shirt than he will focus on baseball.Perhaps I'm missing something here, but whatever QB commits to Bama should expect to redshirt their first year due to the QB talent already enrolled. Even if Jameis Winston commits to Bama how many season's can you expect him to stay before leaving to play baseball.
I can't say I blame him. If it were me I would take the "Bird in Hand" of being paid to play baseball. Especially knowing that if baseball didn't work out College Football could be your back-up plan.
I wish JW luck in whatever he decides.
Roll Tide!!!
You are correct. If you sign with a four year university you can not be drafted until you have been there three years. If you go JUCO you can sign at any time.here is the deal with that if you dont sign your first year in baseball you have to wait three years to be drafted again, now if im wrong ill be quickly updated. also he has stated if he likely to red-shirt than he will focus on baseball.
I just wanted to add that Winston's HS coach said the other day in a radio interview that Winston will not sign with a school that has another top 3 QB signing with them. Sean Maquire is not a top 3 QB so that favors FSU. Gunner Kiel is ranked the #1 QB by some recruiting services. I hope that what the coach said is wrong. I would love to see both Kiel and Winston sign with Bama, especially with Winston playing both football and baseball in college.here is the deal with that if you dont sign your first year in baseball you have to wait three years to be drafted again, now if im wrong ill be quickly updated. also he has stated if he likely to red-shirt than he will focus on baseball.

The reason i brought that up is because even though Chad kelly says clemson is his leader i think he goes to FSU and that would be two qb's. Also while high school coaches talk i believe it's winston's baseball coach that knows more in this case. From things i have heard his coach is dead wrong but who knows at this point. We should know alot by august.I just wanted to add that Winston's HS coach said the other day in a radio interview that Winston will not sign with a school that has another top 3 QB signing with them. YouTube - Jameis Winston #8
Winston just completed his junior year in HS. He has his senior year of football and baseball to go prior to being eligible for the MLB draft next year.Where did Winston go in the MLB draft?
TIA
I'm with you BET. I know Justin Shanks seemed to be the same way but that has either changed or he just made an excuse as to why he didn't attend one of Bama's junior days.I'll just say that every recruit who grows "tired" of the recruiting attention can always end it at any point and time: Commit to a school and then stop answering your phone. It's not hard.
I'd wager Winston isn't quite tiring of the process like he'd like to claim.
I agree. Him and his HS coach are talking quite a bit about his recruitment here lately. I believe the title with 'tired' in it was a newspaper article writers opinion and not a quote from Winston. I am going to change the title to Updates instead of tired of recruiting.I'll just say that every recruit who grows "tired" of the recruiting attention can always end it at any point and time: Commit to a school and then stop answering your phone. if we get Gunner we don't get Jameis, he has said he doesnt want to go to a team that gets another top 5 qb. And we cant really turn down Gunner or Jameis to get the other. First to pull the trigger is our guy, but im sure that wont stop us from recruiting them both until February.Do you guys think if we get Gunner that are chances of landing this kid is over? I really wanted him in this class!!!
