South Carolina has 32 commits at this point, I was under the assumption that SEC teams could only sign 28 students each year. Am I missing something here?

You must have missed some of the SEC's recruiting classes for 2010, even after the new rule. South Carolina has four that count back to the 2010 class, three EEs, and one juco. The juco doesn't apply apply to the 28 limit for 2011 because he signed in Dec of 2010, and the limits for the 2011 class are from NSD till May 31st. Furthermore, USC has also asked a couple of lineman to greyshirt, and there will also be a couple who will have to prep.

KEY NUMBERS:

28: This is the max amount of L.O.I's that can be signed (the 4 EE's we have do not count against this number.)
32: This is the max amount of recruits that we can account for with L.O.I's (28 +4).
29: This is the max amount of kids we can bring to campus from this class (25 + 4 EE's).

So for example, with 32 right now, if we land Cooper-Clowney, our total would be 34.

That means that 2 kids from this class can not sign a L.O.I.
That means that 5 kids from this class can not report to campus until January 2012.

That is assuming that we hold on to every commit and land everyone on our board.

The 2 kids that will not receive LOI's are not expected to qualify. We will have no problem getting to 29 from 34 because of the prep-school bound kids

No Bama fan should question how another team is going to fit in their recruiting classes haha.

I just asked because truthfully, I don't understand this recruiting crap. One would think that a limit of 28 means a limit of 28 but, apparently not. I just wish there was a better explanation for what the limit actually is.
