Here are some quick hitters from the portion of practice that media is allowed to see:

  • As he has been doing all week, Mark Ingram is practicing with a brace on his left knee. Seems to be moving fine and the brace is thought to be for precautionary reasons only.
  • Julio is running routes and looks fine. Should know something definitive from Coach Saban's presser at around 6pm and 6:30pm.
  • LB Chris Jordan (hamstring) participating in drills without wrap. At least no visible wrap like Monday and Tuesday.
  • CJ Mosley seems to be getting more and more involved by the week. By year's end, he may not come off much at all.

Mosely always seems to be in the right place. He reminds me of our OLB from a couple years back (name escapes me for some reason, I think he invited to try and play with the Jets) except with much more athletic ability. I've read Saban's playbook, and let me just say, this kid has a lot between the ears to be able to grasp the complexities of our defense so early.

It was Cory Reamer, and it was last year. Duhhhh

First time I saw him, in the SJSU game, I said "Demeco Ryans". From body type to instincts to his nose for the ball. All Demeco

I'm usually not the paranoid type -- and it's not like the coaching staff owes us fans the truth -- but I don't really believe any information about Julio Jones' health anymore. In both years previous, Julio sustained dings that, apparently, limited him all season. Only after the season would it be revealed that, "Oh, yeah, he was playing hurt and was only at 80%."

I worry that this injury may be similar. He's clearly a tough guy, so just because he's gutting out routes doesn't mean that he's 100%.

Our defense when it fully matures is gonna be freaking scary. I have said it time and time again to my friends . Saban is building a multiple championship juggernaut.

More info:

Saban said McElroy was dinged (in the head) in the 2nd quarter against UF. Didn't realize it until 4th quarter when McElroy called wrong formation

Saban: Julio did practice, didn't seem to have a lot of issues. You have to see how he responds tomorrow. If he looks OK, he should be fine.

Saban: "This is probably the game that will define us more than any other game we play this year."

I've thought the same thing.

OMG! So GM played with a concussion. It's hard to believe that it wasn't evident in the locker room at half time. I've walked around with a concussion, but everyone who saw me knew that something was wrong. I'd have to believe that it calls into question whether he plays on Saturday...

Yeah, Earle, as soon as I read it, I wondered why that would be news that he'd share publicly. But either way, it sounds as if everyone is a go for Saturday.

First thing I thought too....

We've had a rash of concussions this year on our HS squad. The last one, I could see his pupils from 5 yards away.

Yeah...

In high school I tried to knock a hole in a basketball court with my head. It didn't work.

I can't believe GMac played the 2nd half with a concussion...
