Mack, do you follow Chase Goodbread and Cecil on Twitter? What you posted is what they were tweeting today (pretty much word for word) that's why I ask.

Does "dinged"=concussion?
Posted via Mobile Device
It does if you're not thinking straight. In my case, I was in a trance state for 24 hours. I remember most of what happened, but it's like remembering a dream. I also remember the exact moment I snapped out of it and knew what had happened. I've had two, lesser, ones, since then, but I knew what had happened to me and what was going on. People who know you can tell...

Re: McElroy sustained head injury against Florida

This discussion is going on under the practice report thread, so we'll merge the two...

... my thoughts also
...Saban said McElroy was dinged (in the head) in the 2nd quarter against UF.
... this thread goes from "dinged" to "concussion" in 2 posts - who says BAMA [fans] doesn't have speed
OMG! So GM played with a concussion...
...I can't believe GMac played the 2nd half with a concussion...
... unless you guys have non published info on this matter, i'm thinking this is possibly the "proverbial leap"

Sometimes concussions are not that apparent.... Concussion and loss of memory are the more common symptoms they do not always appear. I under stand how he could have continued to play and not let on that he was having a head issue.

I had a concussion once during a game, albeit a very mild one, and no realized it until after the game was over. The middle lb picked up a fumble and was running it back, so I went in for the tackle. My fullback came in at the same time and I ended up bashing the guy's knee with the side of my head. I knocked the ball out though. :) I think around 18 of the 22 guys on the field tried to jump on the ball, and Danny and I were at the bottom of the pile. I remember everything kind of going dark for a split second and feeling kind of weird. I didn't know what it was but having had a bigger concussion later on it was that feeling you get right after you've been knocked out. And then I felt a pain in my neck. I'm pretty sure I didn't get knocked out, just came close. Anyway, I got up slow and complained about my neck hurting, but it got better pretty quickly, so we figured it was a stinger. I played the rest of the game and no one noticed anything until after the game when I couldn't remember the combination to my locker and then couldn't find my car.

I know concussions weren't quite as watched for back then as they are now, but it wasn't that long ago. :) It's possible for people to not notice, especially if there's something else going on that could explain why you're acting a little differently. They just thought that my neck was hurting and I wasn't having a good game.

It could have been the same sort of thing with Greg.

I knew something was badly wrong when everything turned a shade of green...and I'm not making that up. The next 20 hours are still a blur, but I was awake because the doctors wouldn't let me sleep for fear of complications. I still don't remember the 8 hours after the concussion happened clearly - just bits and pieces.

I agree about Mosley having Demeco's instincts but Mosley has a gear which Demeco does not possess.
I saw some highlights of him while he was at Theodore...he is very quick, and always seems to be in the right place. Those are things you just can't coach. The fact he is picking up the defense so fast is astounding. You can look at his pic on rivals, and you just knew he would be special.

GMac sustained head injury vs Florida

"He's actually so poised and so good, he got hurt really in the second quarter and nobody knew it," Saban said. "He got hit in the head when he scrambled once, he got hit on the sidelines and it really affected him in the game, I think. We didn't know it until the fourth quarter when he called the play wrong on the formation wrong, then tried to run the play that we signaled."
