I don't know if anybody knows this since(unfortunately) we have never beaten Texas, but, for Rammer Jammer after the game(hopefully we will be singing it(, does anyone know if it will be Hey Horns or Hey Longhorns? I'm going to be there and it will be my first Rammer Jammer(hopefully), so I'd hate to screw it up!

Mostly likely Hey Horns... but during my years at bama there was some confusion at times... like when we play a no name team and in the heat of it the crowd forgets their mascot... ha, or when we play the gamecocks... many different things you can call them.

Horns is just to short. Let's do Longhorns. Be positive.

I was criticised after we beat Tennesse for saying that I was going to Pasadena. They said I was counting my chickens too soon. I just said it was the power of positive thinking.

I had a problem like that this year. The North Texas game is an example. Everybody said "eagles" while I said "mean green" until I realized what everybody else said. When I realized, I changed to "eagles."

I'd have to say Longhorns. The cheer primarily uses two syllable words. The main exceptions being Hogs and Vols obviously because there's no way to use a two syllable word for either. The way I've always seen it is this; if a two syllable word is available, we use it. If not, go for the one.

I think we should say "Hey texas" (note the lack of capitalization). But if not, "Hey longhorns" is too much of a mouthful.

what is this "Rammer Jammer" of which you speak? All I can infer is I DON"T want to hear it.

Hook 'Em
sung to the "Hey Song"...

Hey _________ ! Hey __________ !
We just beat the he11 outta you!
Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer
Give 'em he11 Alabama!

Why is the mascot name used instead of the university name? I can understand why for a few teams, but is it just for the sake consistency? Because I ALWAYS want to say hey "aubarn". It just kills me to say tigers to them. I think it should be "texas", but I won't be there so it really doesn't matter. As everyone has said, I just hope we can sing it.

We do say, "Auburn". Tigers is reserved for LSU. I would like using Texas though.
