1. Texas

Pros: Texas offers the complete package: Great school in a great town with great tradition. Also, it’s located in a state that treats high school football like a religion.

Cons: Texas has a ton going for it (see above), but the Longhorns are only 22–16 in the last three seasons. The program is not immune to losing. And while Texas is a recruiting power, there are three other AQ conference schools in the state, and virtually every other national power dips into Texas to recruit as well.

Final Verdict: It’s easier said than done — just ask David McWilliams and John Mackovic — but everything is in place to win big on a consistent basis at Texas.

You really have to ask WHY that is, don't you?

If you have every conceivable advantage known to man, how do you not go at least 11-1 or better every year?

What a joke. What do they have maybe 2 national titles in the modern era?

They may be right talk about attractive jobs, just win a few, launch a network & be one of the highest paid without the demand for results?

Yep TX a pretty good gig.

Alabaster, AL, USA
Everyone knows that Auburn is the best job in the country, at least from a financial standpoint. To keep your job you only have to win 1 game each year - against Alabama. And the "hush money" you receive once you get fired is unmatched anywhere in the country. Sure, it's a career killer for most, but as i mentioned, you'll never need another job due to the lifetime pay you get.

The Florida Myth: because you're in a state with a bunch of players automatically makes it a better job than other school that have every other advantage over it (nor does it matter that you have two other top-15 programs in-state).

The Florida recruiting thing is far overblown. Alabama, hands down, is the easiest place to win in the SEC.

Only one coach since 1918 has failed to get a 10 win season.
We have an SEC Championship in every decade since formation.
Alabama only has 14 losing seasons in program history
Florida didn't even win an SEC Championship (that counted 5 years later) until 1991.

Alabama has advantages in facilities, booster network, fan support (and I mean REAL fan support here), and just about everything
