Recruiting and the battle between UA & AU

Recruiting will be fine.

Our recruiting will be fine. The reason for this is because, the state of Alabama is not as loaded this year like it was last year. There are maybe just 2 or 3 guys that are rated in the top 100 that come out of the state of Alabama this year. We have just as good of a shot in landing one of them as do Auburn. Auburn will rack up in the state of Georgia and Florida. They always do good in those states. They will do even better this year due to their success on the field this year. Alabama is starting to see good success in the state of Florida. Alabama also needs to crack down on the state of Georgia and Misssissippi in the next couple of years.

two recruits

Tell me about these two who committed to LSU and Auburn. Is it Sharrief and Keys? does anyone have any info?

I have followed recruiting closely for years and I wish I had a dollar for every suprise or player that suddenly switched schools. Furthermore, even though a class may look good on paper, it's really hard to get a real feel for exactly how good that class was for at least 2-3 years down the road. That being said, regardless of who signs, check back in few years and then we'll talk about how good (or maybe not so good) this incoming class was. As of right now, I'd say this incoming class looks pretty good, about as good as last year but the staff needs to fininsh strong and REALLY needs 2 good RBs.
I totally agree with you dude. To look at a recruiting class before any of them have stepped on the field and say that it was a great class or a terrible class is just speculation anyway. I mean, to look at rivals.com and see some of the ratings that they gave some of our past recruits is kind of humorous. i.e.
Brandon Avalos = 3 Star
Tyrone Prothro = 3 Star
Ken Darby = 3 Star

So, from this I hope everyone will realize that you shouldn't judge a recruiting class on what the so called "experts" say. Let them get on the field and prove themselves before you evaluate them.

That's the rumor floating around.

Sharrief said that he is still 99% committed to Aubarn but is leaving the door slightly open b/c Bama says he is the best RB in the state. Interestingly enough, Aubarn is recruiting him on defense.

It remains to be seen how the Keys situation will shake out. If I had to bet today, I'd say he'd go to LSU

I heard CMS speak on this topic. He feels it's better to committ early, if BAMA is truly the place for him, and concentrate on their senior year in academics and improving their game. Why waste time with idle visits.

Plus it probably helps in recruiting. Maybe some highly regarded player sees the class filling up and decides to throw his name in the hat for the opportunity to wear the Crimson jersey.
