A question about our coaches...

Does anyone know how recruiting is broken down between our coaches? Also, which of our recruits from the past year or two have been recruited by which coaches? Ok, two questions.

Not going to go back to read if this has been posted...

but in case it hasn't, here's Tebow's stats in the win against New Smyrna Beach:

Rushing 11-103 yards
Passing 27-48 268 yards

His coach said his ankle still isn't 100%. It was reported that there were strong winds during the game. He needs 93 passing yards next week at home against Eastside to pass Xavier Lee (FSU) in career passing yardage for the state of Florida. Lee holds the record with 9,083 career yards. Tebow already holds the state completion record with 566.

Top Ten Bama Recruits at this time

1). Andre Smith- if we dont get him i will consider this recruiting season a loss. Been very tight lipped about his recruiting. Cant get a read.

2). Tim Hawthorne- we need big WR's who can catch and Tim fits the bill. Same as Tim cant get read.

3). Tim Tebow- Great QB for the future. Bama or Fla who knows

4). Deantwan Whitehead- A major pass rush threat. Bama, Lou, Ark

5). Brandon Spikes- Best LB on board. Bama has lead

6). Jarred Fayson- ready made replacement for Tyrone Prothro. I think hes Fla bound personally

7). AJ Jones- another great LB on board. USC, FLA, UA tied

8). Ugo Chinasa- Killer DE from Texas. Hard to read

9). Jermarcus Ricks- Natural defensive Tackle. Bama had lead before this weekend

10). Earl Alexander- another big wide receiver. Very athletic. AU has lead now though.(Anyone know if hes taken an official to bama yet?)

Mr. Fayson

Someone said today that he had committed to Florida. I don't if that is true, wondering if anyone on here had heard the same? Also, Smith has to be our next target, and then the LB's. Shula has to and will finish big. RTR

Both Alexander and Ricks disturb me right now because of their statements after the game Saturday... it's as if everything Bama has accomplished this year is out the window because of the last two games. Goes to show that neither are them are completely sold on the direction of the program. BTW, what the boards say about them can be slanted and misperceived... if it is true, however, makes me wonder about how committed they would be to us at this point even if they give their verbal.

HELP WANTED.

Offensive linemen badly needed. The University of Alabama is looking for a few good men. Position starts with next game. No salary, but plenty of good benefits.

Apply in person. See Coach Mike Shula (205) BR-549.

Would RTO or CS or anyone know where
we may possibly may end up in terms of team
rankings after signing day? Could everyone please
give us curious people a possible update on
where we stand with all recruits now that this weekend
and regular season is over.

BigBam,

we'll end up with a top 10 and probably top 5 class if we land Smith and Tebow.

Havne't got a full read on all of these guys post Barn game. Ricks is now even and Alexander a Barn lean. However, they are taking officials before deciding. That's the good news.....no one committed to the Barn after this weekend.

I just watched Mike McCoy Video on BOL

:eek2: is all I can say.

BIG, very fast, very good hands. Gosh, I want this kid. Make no mistake, this guy is nobody's back-up plan. Unreal.

Love the Ping said:

that's why the staff is likely only going to take the first two WRs to commit. You cannot go wrong with any combo of McCoy, Smith, Hawthorne, or Alexander.

Plus, the Barn has said they have room for one more WR. With Alexander, Hawthorne, and Alexander giving thoughts to the Barn, someone is gonna get left out, either here or there. I'm not worried about getting some playmakers with hands in this class.

Personally, I think Smith and McCoy are as close to 4 stars as you can get. Smith has great hands....a slower version of Knight, but with better hands. He could really be that possession receiver we need.

Add any of the others and then we have 2 playmakers (Stover, plus one) and a possession guy (Smith).

I have been wondering why our wr's have not performed up to their potential. brown, caddell, and hall have great speed and good height. They put up good numbers in high school. Brown was a 3 star recruit, Caddell 4 and Hall 2. I don't look to much into the rankings but their height and speed as well as high school numbers had me expecting better results. Could this lack of production be a lack of route running ability or perhaps bad wr coaching? I know there has been quite a few drops in the last 2 games but I don't recall many in the first 9 games. I guess what I am getting at is do you think any of our current prospects are better or will perform better than our current wr's.

Littlewing, Caddell is only 5'11 - at best. He is definitely not tall. Ironically, he was our highest rated WR by the 'gurus' and is still only our #4 WR. Also, drops have been a problem the entire season. Chalk it up to whatever you want, but these guys will get better. The Barn has very good receivers now but if you remember, two years ago when they all were sophomores, they dropped a lot of balls also. With maturity comes more concentration and focus, and less drops.

RTO, you're right. We can't go wrong with whoever is left on our WR board. I was amazed at how fast McCoy was, I was expecting more of a possession type guy, especially given his size. He looks really solid. If he's 6'3, then I would guess that 200 lbs is accurate for him.

RTO, this is a rumour so take it for that. I was talking to a gentlman yesterday about some of the recruits in the area and he had some interesting comments. According to him, Courtney Smith has recieved an offer, but there a some "strings" attached. He wasn't sure but Bama may be asking him to wait to see what some other guys do first to see if they have room for him. Courtney wasn't a Bama fan but they are basically the best firm offer he has right now. After moving to Prattville this fall, his interest in Bama has increased greatly with thier ties to the Prattville program, and paying more attention to thier offense he feels that he could do good in the offense. Also JD Douglas would LOVE to come to Bama, but right now there really isn't any place for him. There may be questions about his grades as well, so there is a chance they may sign him so he gets to sign with them, and then help find a JC to work on his grades. Tim Rawlinson wants to go to FSU, but if it doesn't work out, he will probably end up at the Barn. Once again though there are some questions about academics so it may not matter.

Once again these are rumours and are not meant to disparage anyone. Being biased of course I want all of them to sign with Bama, and continue the Prattville Pipeline, but realize that it doesn't always work out that way.

If thats true or happens just how many recruits
are these orange a holes gonna steal from us?
I mean the three that have been mentioned
in the last 3 days have been Bama leans from
what I've understood all year long. I thought
everyone said this weekend that the loss would'nt make
much of a difference. Can someone
make us feel better about each specific recruit
that is on the fence between us and the infers?
I cannot understand for the life of me why
someone would want to go there when they can have quality
playing time here and we have been low on scolarships. Thatas well
as they would sit on the bench there with too many players. How many slots does barnebus have left to compete with us? Please someone make me feel better.

Question for RTO and other recruiting guru's..

There are some rumors going around that Andre Smith was booed by the Barners for cheering for Bama's defense during the game.. Have you guys heard if this is true or not??

Grandbay,

I was under the impression Courtney's offer was firm. However, that might not be the case. Will look into that a little further. Most everyone I've talked to seems to think we can't go wrong with him b/c of his great hands and route running. 40 time is a little slow, but he shows well on film. We'll see....

UAB-CT,

According to the interview, Whitehead was caught up in the heat of the moment and had to "catch himself." In the end, I don't think he'll be a Barner. Still think he's headed out of state....and if he stays in, it'll be here and not Barnerville. He wasn't even at the game.

ridnlow,

I've read the rumors all day that Andre was "clearly cheering" for Bama and the Barners saw him......seems odd for a recruit to do that, but true colors shine through when in enemy territory ;)

BIGBAM,

The Barners will not end up with Peanut or Hawthorne. Slightly better chance at Alexander but I still think it ends up Bama/UGA for him. Silver lining with any WR that has us and Barn on his short list is that we'll definitely get 1 or 2 of the others. Barn has 1 WR slot open, Bama has 2.
