Bama Mag: Alfred McCollough ProfileAthens defensive tackle Alfred McCollough announced his decision to Alabama's coach Chris Ball on Saturday and the coach was excited to hear of his decision. McCollough talks of the reasons for his college choice and if that decision is final.
"Alabama is close to home, offers a chance to play early, and it felt like the right place for me," Alfred McCollough said from Athens, (Ala.).
I know comparing a high school kid to a guy who played and played well at the NFL level is not a fair comparison, but Siragusa was never one of the most athletic DTs. IMO, Murphy even at this stage in his development is more athletic than Siragusa was. Does that mean he's a better player or he's going to be a better player than Siragusa was, heck no, but I think he has more athletic potential. Like I said, I'm not knocking the Goose, he was a successful NFL player and one of the best characters the league has ever had, but he wasn't a poster child for the athletically gifted. I sure hope Murphy lives up to that "potential" too, while in a Bama uniform of course! :wink:CornBiscuit said:Murphy is athletic, but it seems hard to think he is more thletic than on of the greats at DT in the NFL.
Doesn't seem to be 100% sure. Maybe he's just trying to keep his options open, but I don't like to hear a Bama recruit talk this way. Welcome aboard Alfred.....unpack your doubts, & stay awhile! His verbal commitment to the Tide is not rock solid and he replied when asked, "I wouldn't say I'm 100-percent committed. I will still keep my options open. I think I will stay with Alabama in the end though."
Im with you. :conf2: :conf2: :conf2: :conf2:Crimson Hawk said:Doesn't seem to be 100% sure. Maybe he's just trying to keep his options open, but I don't like to hear a Bama recruit talk this way. Welcome aboard Alfred.....unpack your doubts, & stay awhile!![]()
