I don't know much about the players we have that are redshirted(shame on me).

I noticed, however, that we lose plenty of notable players on D and on O. So my question is, are our redshirted players(and new recruits) going to be able to patch up the holes left by the seniors?

I went to school with a guy named Zach Schrieber that came to Alabama, what is he doing on the team right now, is he a redshirt?

WR Nikita Stover too. I believe he got recruited by us and signed his LOI but couldn't get his grades up. I think he went to Hargrave Military Academy to get his grades up and should be here next year. He was a very highly recruited WR out of high school and should help this WR corps next year if not in the years to come.

Stover has been in junior college in MS. He did not play this year in jc and will be at the Capstone in January. He will have 3 yrs left to play.

We needed Stover yesterday...

and he would have played. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and predict that our first four in the WR rotation next year will be Prothro, Hall, Brown and Stover...

Earl, I think the same thing about Stover. He will immediately push Caddell and Knight down the depth chart. I'm just not as optimistic about TP returning next season, I think he may need next year to rehab and get back to full strength.

You're correct...

about TP. A RS year may turn out to be better. After seeing what T. Castille has suffered this year - and how little utility we have gotten out of him, compared to the past, I think (and thought) he should also RS. In the case of TP, his injuries weren't to the tendons and ligaments and the infection seems to have been controlled. Bones knit fast with kids, so, with no more complications, his main job will be to recover strength and flexibility. I think he makes it back for the next year, barring further complications...

Well, I just want to make sure we get 100% Tyrone Prothro, not 75% Tyrone Prothro. If that means him missing the entire season, so be it. Looking at things as they stand now, it looks like we may have a better squad overall in 2007 anyway, so if he had to wait until then, it wouldn't bother me one bit. He's one of the best players in college football at 100%, I don't want him to rush back.

Nikita went to Itawamba Community College. Sat out of football and I believe he still has 3 years of eligibility left.

I am really excited to see Stover play next year and of course, Ford ..especially if he can get in and practive with the team before the bowl game...and i think the D-line redshirts are gonna impress alot of people next year...

I look for two of our redshirted DL (Washington and Fanney) to push hard for significant playing time next year. With Griffin graduating and injury problems with Lee, both of these guys have the potential to do well at DT. IMO, both of the them have had essentially two years to get stronger and wiser (one at Bama and one at Hargrave; think about them as seniors... 23-24 year-olds). Also, I believe Prince Hall has a major opportunity to get into the rotation at the Mike linebacker.

Prince Hall is the key of all the redshirts. If he doesn't show up ready in the spring, we'll have an immediate emergency situation at MLB. We'll either be forced to play the very lightweight Terrence Jones there, or Matt Collins -- who isn't an every-down SEC linebacker -- or hope Schreiber or Marcel Stamps can step up. Or, we might have to go with one of the fall signees. Any way you slice it, that's not good.

Chris Rogers will play somewhere next year, whether it's safety or cornerback.

At least one of the DTs -- Washington, Fanney or Walton -- and probably two, will have to be ready to go into the main rotation. Deaderick will probably be added to the DE rotation.

On offense, Evan Cardwell appears to be our next center by default, although Scott Deaton is in the mix there, too. I'd like to see either Drew Davis or Michael Johnson step up at tackle, if for no other reason than to light a fire under the you-know-whats of the players currently at that position. One of them will have to play as a reserve, anyway, since Sanders graduates.

I see that you have included Pothro in your prediction. I hope that you are correct and he will fully recover and be able to play again.
