New TI article confirms CNS told Tana Patrick he is recruiting him mainly for the Jack position. Guess we aren't hurting for a Jack recruit as much as we thought. RTR.:BigA:
All the talk about the DE/Jack LB position has mostly centered around Fletcher Cox, Ed Stinson, Montez Robinson, and Olivier Vernon. I mentioned on this board a little while back that I thought Tana Patrick could fill the Jack LB position very well also. If Bama signs any two of these five DE/Jack LBs it would be a very good thing indeed.

Small update on Morgan Moses. There has been word very recently that Moses may be much more in play for UA than most think. Some have speculated that he may even be a better shot than Bobby Massie. Should be an interesting couple of months.

That seems to correlate, somewhat, with what I have read and heard elsewhere as well. To me, getting EITHER Massie or Moses would be a major coup, but to actually have a shot at landing BOTH of them would be absolutely unbelievable--yet that is exactly what I am hearing could possibly be in the works.

Something tells me we're going to see a major snowball effect on our last couple of weeks of recruiting, the only thing is we may not know it's actually happening until signing day.

Bad precedent.....Mama's and papa's are gonna think twice before they let their kid go to a school that does that. I know that "scholarships are 1 year at a time" but all kids sign expecting to be there 4 years unless they turn pro, mess up or fail academically.
I trust CNS will make the numbers work but I hope it doesn't involve pulling scholarships from players that are working hard and trying to make the team.
You misunderstood my point-the kids know that they could play somewhere else, but want to stay at Alabama and that is why they are considering this option.

I also had us @ 84 . I imagine several of us will be scratching our heads up until late August with the #'s situation :p_conf: At least we'll have something to discuss over the Summer other than live elephants cracking concrete around Bryant-Denny and white head gear :D
We were all scratching our heads this past summer trying to figure the numbers out. I'm glad that is Saban's job and not mine.

It is amazing to look at the prospects that are at the top of Sabans list and have a chance to pick the tide. Everyone is predicting about 7 more commits. This list could blow the recruiting world away.

1. CB Dre Kirkpatrick 5*
2. WR Reuben Randle 5*
3. CB Janzen Jackson 5*
4. LB Tana Patrick 4*
5. OLB Flether Cox 4*
6. OT/DT Brandon Moore 4*
7. WR Pat Patterson
Tried not to start a new thread when plenty are available, but I was just curious to see if the "board" had changed any after the two all-star games (national) and the MS/AL game.

I think you would have to add P. Patterson back on the board in a big way after his perfomances. He's coming this weekend along with Tana, Trent, AJ and others, and I would think one or two will join the Tide (may or may not be public). Any thoughts or is the staff going to take the best players available regardless of position?

With RUMORS of a certain running back's impending transfer (and who knows who else) the numbers may all work out...

There's been rumors for months that Terry Grant would transfer after the season, although his supposed destination has changed several times (USM, JSU, MTSU, UNA, etc.).

I would say Coffee is 50/50 on staying or throwing his hat into the draft. I think a lot depends on where he is told he would likely get snagged. I could see a team taking him by the late 3rd round, but more likely 4th-5th. I certainly wouldn't say he is a lock to stay unless he has publicly said otherwise. I'm just not sure his draft status would improve next year because of the log jam at RB (less carries), an OL that is a big ?, and a new QB.

Who's on the recruiting board? Focus, myself included. Sorry for the thread deviation above, and the potential Grant transfer is "olds". Other transfers would be news.
