Suttles was on the Opening Drive this morning. Audio here
He probably hit it on the head better than any explanation I've heard, especially the point about less working hours and more money that the NFL provides. I don't know many people who wouldn't accept a position in the same line of work for more money and less hours.

Yeah, sign an entire class full of them.
Sorry if my post was snarky. My mom gave me three things - light complexion, blue eyes and a bunch of snarky comments.

Back to your original point, though - Saban can't sign QBs like BB is able to get other team's players. Look at the main guys BB gets. They're skill guys. Their success then can be attributed to two main things - Brady and scheme.

Man, you guys kill me with the wild speculations sometimes. I guess that is why I love this board. Anyway, Chip Kelly is in no ones mind except here and in the media. Our new OC is probably already on campus, has been there recently or is a guy flying under the radar somewhere that caught coach's eye in the recent past. I am sure Nick would rather mold and mentor rather than harness or rehab IMHO.
Saban didn't know this was going down until Monday when Quinn called him, so I highly doubt the new OC is on campus right now.

"Light completion", is that like a screen pass to a running back?

Interesting, since he was, in effect, passed over for Sark...
I think getting Napier back as OC along with Locksley would be the best route for us. Napier has seen both sides of what I think Saban would like for us to be - a blend of the McElwain offense with the Kiffin offense sprinkled in.

I think coach went with sark just purely based on experience and pedigree.

I think Napier should get a shot at this.

I think the discussion about 3* quarterbacks is really fascinating.

It seems one side is overlooking that basically all of our quarterback recruits between Phillip Simms and Blake Barnett were viewed as projects. Neither Bateman nor Cornwell were viewed as immediate impact players. I fear we may find ourselves in something of a similar situation in the next few years, though I hope not.

That said, I think the "they'll transfer" crowd is overstating things a bit. I mean, from McCarron to Hurts we've seen seven recruits plus a preferred walk-on at the QB position leave the program - all this three OCs (now four!). I think those are extraordinary circumstances, and I hope injuries don't make all that come back to bite us in the future.

Currently on Twitter, Cecil is hinting at Napier coming back.
Don't know if it was said here but Andy Staples retweeted something from Blake Barnett earlier, seemingly trying to make a connection. Blake has since said "don't over analyze ". Kind of a big stretch and silly staples would put that out there IMO. But heck ...who knows.
Edit ...I see now that Cecil retweeted Blake as well.
