Rex Grossman/Fox announcers

Is it me or does the fox announcers of the seattle and chicago game seem to always say nothing but negative things about Rex Grossman. I'm not a fan of Grossman nor Chicago but it just seems to me that they keep picking on the guy. I hate announcers that act like they could do better. I think Rex is doing a great job. Any thoughts?

I think you might want to edit your post..

Troy Aikman (who won 3 Super Bowls) is an announcer.. so I think he can do better.

Plus, I don't think I could do any worse than his 0.0 QB rating he had last game. Hell, on a good day I might if even do better...

I've been thinking the same thing. Rex hasn't played a bad game. He has a pretty good QB rating right now, and the int should have been caught. Not his fault. The announcers just keep pounding on him.

Go Shaun!!!

Seemed like Grossman fell in love with the homerun ball after his early season success. Then everything fell apart, and he turned away from sound decision making, check-downs, etc. Seems like he's turned it back around now, spreading the field, some deep balls, some short dump offs.

Grossman is a joke IMO. I didnt think much of him in college and less in the pros. He has a very good team around him though and a good coach though.

cheers

The woman on the pre-game show kept asking all the players about Rex Grossman and the they kept replying "well, we're 13-3". The lady said, "if someone tells me you're 13-3 one more time I'm gonna go crazy." Dont worry lady...the Bears are 14-3 now. :)

After a hot start Rex has had a relatively rocky road. Concur that he appeared to initially be in love with the home run ball. Fumbles/ints. Guess I could also fall back on some of stuff on this board regarding how QB performance is affected by porous OL. Not many Fran Tarkingtons around these days. Truth is standing on the sidelines injured or otherwise doesn’t prepare a QB for NFL or for that matter college starts like game snaps. Good luck Rex!

I am a Chicago fan so I was torn for this game. I always want to see SA do well and I thought he had a great game.

I love my Bears (I am from Chicago) I was in high school in 1985 and it was a great time (telling my age!) Rex has his days but the Bears are where they are and he is so excited to be there. I am not a fan that bashed him nor do I know many in Chicago that have....most feel the same he has his good games and his not so good games. I too love the coach!

C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
R. Grossman 21/38 282 7.4 1 1
Team 21/38 251 6.6 1 1

Not bad. Better than average. The Bears are 14 - 3 with Grossman. Lovie Smith is right to keep him in. Some guys do not look good they just win. Some guys look good but keep losing. Go with the one that got you there. 14 & 3 record. I believe CBS, ESPN, or whoever try to dictate their thoughts. Any coach that would listen to those idiots will not be coaching long. :BigA:

When a reporter asked Rex how long has the last two weeks been ? Rex replied "14 days". :p_lol:
Congrats on the Gators NC. Seeing the SEC keep it in conference is awesome. Poor Awbun they still are yapping how they got hosed. I believe the Dawgs and Hogs had a say in their situation. Had the officials got the call right in the FL vs Aub game FL would have finished 14 - 0. :BigA:

Thanks Bama Irishman. The SEC is the greatest conference in all of college ball.
Not just because of the talent, speed, and coaching, but the fans and stadiums also. This year we were fortunate enough to host Bama and LSU in the Swamp before going on the road to Jordan Hare. No other conference offers the every saturday rivalries such as the SEC. Good luck in 07.

Didn't he set the record in college for highest passer rating for a full season in NCAA history? I think i heard that Colt Brennan broke it this year. I think i heard that.

Rex... is a good quarterback, great some days in fact. He just isnt the QB the bears need. They have a good running game and a great defense. They dont need a big play QB. They need what jeff garcia has been to the eagles. Short completions, efficient, mobile, smart.

First person in the SEC I've ever heard say he didn't deserve the heisman his sophomore year. He had the best quarterback stats in any major college that year. He won the quarterback of the year award (whatever the name of it is) and then a quarterback beat him out. Say what you want about his professional career, but, he was great in college. I'll say this for his professional career, it's been 18 years since the Bears have been in the title game and he's the quarterback. He should get some credit for that. Peyton got the Colts to the playoffs, but, he sure hasn't helped them win the two games IN the playoffs. Brady has always had a ton of help around him.

It is a team sport.

The media is just trying to tear him down because they put him on such a high pedestal after the first three games of the year and they now feel he has made them look dumb by stinking the joint up. Only problem is even with him stinking the joint up they keep winning. Why else would that reporter say if I hear 13-3 again I'm going to be sick?
