The difficulty in changing the candy market

RFK Jr.’s Worst Nightmare
The candy convention was a celebration of everything that the health secretary believes is wrong with our food.

RFK Jr. ends coronavirus shot recommendation for healthy children, pregnant women
Currently the vaccine is recommended for all people over 6 months of age.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Tuesday that his agency would no longer recommend the coronavirus vaccine for healthy pregnant women and healthy children — an unprecedented move that bypasses the traditional system of vaccine advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

HHS cancels funding for Moderna to develop vaccines to combat bird flu
The department cited Moderna’s use of the messenger RNA technology, which it said “remains under-tested,” for the cancellation of the funding.

The Department of Health and Human Services is pulling millions of dollars it had committed to give Moderna to aid the effort to develop a vaccine to combat the bird flu in humans, the company announced Wednesday.

Texas state rep. wants his kids' school 'celebrated' for being least vaccinated
Texas state Rep. Nate Schatzline (R) said he wanted his children's school to be "celebrated" because it was one of the "least vaccinated" schools in the state.

"Mercy Culture Preparatory, which is a private school in my district, also happens to be where I send my kids to school, he said they are the least vaccinated school in the state of Texas," he observed. "Now, I was incredibly concerned for a couple different reasons. I was concerned that, number one, we're just finding out about this. Because the second concern is, why haven't we celebrated this sooner?"

RFK Jr. removes all current members of CDC vaccine advisory committee

US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday dismissed an expert panel of vaccine advisers that has historically guided the federal government’s vaccine recommendations, saying the group is “plagued with conflicts of interest.”

The entirety of the 17-member Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices, which advises the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the vaccine schedule and required coverage of immunizations, will be retired and replaced with new members, Kennedy announced in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. The HHS secretary has authority to appoint and dismiss ACIP members, who typically serve four-year cycles. But removing the entire panel prematurely is unprecedented.

I have an Apple Watch Series 3. It's old and doesn't get updates anymore. I have turned off almost every feature, and all it really does is tell time now. I got so annoyed with the constant notifications, which is why I disabled virtually everything. It is now the most expensive time-telling watch I have ever bought. I have no interest in paying that much for a watch again, especially ones that stop getting updates after a few years.

My wife and one of my chirruns use Apple watches, I'm a Garmin guy myself. Far fewer notifications (and you can turn them all off) plus much better battery life. Mine is five years old now, still works like a charm.

I have a five-year old Samsung Gear 3, which does all I want. Interestingly, they're up to Gear 6 and buyers seem to be progressively less pleased, with each advancing model...
Yeah, I still have the Gear 3. All the bad reviews of newer models tell me to stay right where I am. I will only look for so.ething new when the watch cannot pair with my phone.
