Richt, UGA Trying "2-For-1" Deal | ChuckOliver.Net

If you're not a big follower of recruiting, this might be worth a look. If you do follow recruiting (especially Crowell), you likely have heard about this already. I think it's obvious what Richt is doing here. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it happens from time to time. I'm interested what everyone else's thoughts are regarding this situation.

What's Richt going too do if we get Crowell..If he tries to pull Harrow' offer..It would only fan the flames on his HotSeat..I can't believe Richt stoops this low..It's a sign of how desperate he's become..Pretty sad if ya ask me..

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
I agree and after yesterday I think Ritch may have wasted a scholly on the Harrow kid, cause it looks like his dream team concept and the promise of early playing time is working on Georgia players. Of course, UGA has had some great talent under Ritch, he just has underachieved with that talent.

It's nothing new. We did the same while recruiting tebow and got stuck with a future medical hardship player for 4 years.

Others thought the same when we recruited Lester and Julio, but Lester had legit offers, and has contributed at a high level.

Its not a bad move especially if you can use all the good pub you can get like Richt can. It only sucks for him if he doesnt get Crowell. Honestly, I don't expect it to have much impact on IC, however I still see him siginin with UGA at this point.

It does not matter because Harrow will be a sign and place. He just got his ACT score up according to IC not anything official. My money is that UGA will take his LOI and then sign and place him into JUCO or prep school. If Crowell does not go to UGA Harrow will never end up in Athens.

Their strength and conditioning program was rated dead last in the SEC in 2010. Player development starts with the SOS program. Being strong enough for your position helps avoid injury. Georgia's had injury issues over the past several seasons. Another variable in proper training and development is discipline....need I go there?

Reminds me of what Cal did to try and get Keenan Allen. They offered his brother and we were not willing to do that. I'm glad that CNS doesn't feel it's necessary to do things like that to get players. We can offer a lot but we're not going to offer everyone under the sun that is friends with the kid. Now if he can play and CNS/staff feels like he would be a good fit that is one thing. But we're not going to take up a spot that another player could use for a star recruit's buddy.

BTW who also had to go to JUCO. Come on we will take you. Get the star of the combo the other sign and place. No scholarship used up.

You won't see him pull this offer. I couldn't imagine that he would do that. The biggest reason: he already said they didn't offer Harrow because of Crowell. Taking away Harrow's offer would say just the opposite.

I don't think CMR has to justify anything now. I just noticed this over on BOL but Quin Harrow just got changed from having 0 stars to having 3 stars. It's amazing that a three star talent like Harrow could go unevaluated for so long... :)

Richt is near bottom, but at least he hasn't started the "Puppy Prowl" like their neighbor, just slightly to the West.
Lets annex Auburn into Ga. The press already think they are in Ga.
IMHO: 'The Two for One Deals' are a sign of desperation.
