Good for McClain. I thought is was nuts when the experts were dropping him farther back in the draft. It was obvious to those who watched him play over the last couple of years that he should be considered a top NFL player. He was the best player on a National Championship team with a Heisman Trophy winner and a dominating defense.

Davis is so unpredictible, but maybe Ro gets traded to a decent team with a decent owner. We can always hope.
I'm pretty sure the amount of money he will receive for being a top 10 pick will ease the pain of playing for Oakland (if he does in fact sign with them)
As a Giants fan, I knew that they would never trade up high enough to get him. I am ecstatic for Ro. Going 8th instead of 12th or 15th means millions more guaranteed.

It's not like he's stuck there the rest of his career. As long as he plays the way we know he can, maybe get even better, then he'll be able to go where he wants after his contract is up.

While I hate the Raiders, they're the Bronco's biggest rival and I still follow them closely. I don't think Ro's going anywhere, he's the defensive quarterback they need. Even though Davis has mismanaged the team the last 5 years, (bad coaching hires, sticking with JaMarcus) they improved quite a bit last year and they could be a factor in the AFCW again within the next couple of years if they can get a decent offensive QB.
I've noticed most of the top picks so far are defensive players-short of one qb (Bradford), a couple of rbs (Spiller & the kid from FresnoSt), and an OL.

None of those "experts" saw him going 8th.. but as a Bama fan I know he deserved it. Best of luck to him - I know he'll give his all. I predict (barring injury) he gets about 200 tackles his rookie year!!
