This is just so ridiculous I had to post it:
RUSH: Have you heard this new movie, the Batman movie, what is it, The Dark Knight Lights Up or whatever the name is. That's right, Dark Knight Rises. Lights Up, same thing. Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in The Dark Knight Rises is named Bane, B-a-n-e. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran and around which there's now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time. The release date's been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire breathing four eyed whatever it is villain in this movie is named Bane?

Of course. The far left Hollywood types wouldn't think of making a movie that could/would impact or influence voters in an upcoming election, now would they? Well, of course not.
Reb - Bane, as a character, has been around since the 90s. He's considered one of Batman's greatest foes (In the comic, he snapped Batman's spine)

Not to mention movie productions began long before they announced the name of the villain.

Ridiculous! Ridiculous, indeed. Ridiculous that many liberals will take a post from Huffington Post and run with it, without checking to see if it was taken out of context. Bamaro, read the transcipt for yourself. Why depend on a liberal hack's post to Huffington Post? You're smarter than that.

RUSH: So I'm in the library last night, and I'm doing what I always do. I'm doing show prep. And I get a text message from Kathryn who's in with the dogs in the kitchen. She says, "Are you in this Batman movie and you didn't tell me? Is this Batman movie about you?" I said, "What now?" She says, "I can't go anywhere without reading about you and this Batman movie." And I finally, in that moment, folks, I finally figured out what's going on. I outed them. Forget the creator. I don't care that the creator created the character Bane in the Batman movie back in the '90s. It doesn't matter. The Democrats clearly were going to try to link this villain to Mitt Romney. And I outed 'em. They've even got a couple Democrats admitting they were gonna, Chris Leheinous and Jon Stewart. And they're still trying to do it.
You know, independently of the producers and the actors and all the people associated with the movie, they saw it, they were gonna try to make the linkage, and now I'm out there basically accusing them of that, so they've got their backs up. They're acting like I'm some sort of conspiracy creep. But I outed 'em. I have shined the light of truth, as it were.

I saw the video of Rush saying this earlier this week. Would have literally taken him 20 seconds of research to not sound like a moron, context claims or not.

Come on Banjeaux, you can't put it in context. The only person who has context to what they are saying are Democrats and their context can change according to subject matter as they need. Rush is evil and the left should take him off the air.

It's amazing how he does this kind of thing all of the time and how many leftist fall for it. He calls it his tweek of the day and then the next day he will play all of the moronic lefties playing what he said out of context.

I thought Rush jumped on this because of the name of the villain and the Obama campaign staff wanted to mask he and Biden as the Caped Crusaders or whatever they are called. Rush made a point that, if all the Democrats had was this as campaign marketing ploy, then congrats Mr Romney on your upcoming Presidency.

Rush may be a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them. He is superb at what he does. He's the Godfather of Talk Radio -- and he never does anything accidentally..... it's all carefully considered. Don't think for a second that he didn't create this "non story" intentionally......

I enjoy Rush -- and the fact that some of our liberal buddies hate him -- means that he's doing his job perfectly... :)

Looks like Rush has moved up on the recreational drug ladder..He needs too pass around whatever he's taking now..Must be some really good stuff..
Recreational drugs? Hmm ... Do you have a link to prove that comment?

Indeed, he admits being addicted to prescription pain relievers. There are a lot of lies still out there about that story.

Where did you see the video? Many liberal sources get caught frequently with doctored "proof." The funny thing is that some don't verify, before they pass info along.

I find it hilarious you blast the bias of the Huffington Post (And granted, I'm not a fan), yet you'll post links from WND.

To everyone on both sides of the aisle who are so wound up in the political game they have to find a slight in every little thing, including movies... here's a shocker about the hidden meaning behind The Dark Knight, and Batman, and Bane, and everything else about the film:

Some time a movie is just a movie.

Nonsense like this making it into the new cycle is why the political discourse in this country is so out of whack. Once people see this film, I can guarantee you the flipped reaction will be what Bane does to the wealthy of Gotham City.

Now I'll step back and let both sides try to claim the high ground while putting the other side down. I just love election years.

Contrary to your world view, not everything has a hidden meaning or political subtext. Some time a movie is just a movie. Nonsense like this making it into the new cycle is why the political discourse in this country is so out of whack.

What is your problem with WorldNetDaily? It must be pretty reliable or Soros and cronies would not be targeting it. Are you totin' water or not fully informed? :conf2:

There is no high ground to claim, diamonddust. This is a battle in the trenches for the soul of our once great nation!

Indeed, not everything has a hidden meaning or political subtext. On the other hand to deny that movies, television, etc. have not been, nor still used to sway public opinion, is naive. Oh! There is nothing wrong with my world view, which comes from 70+ years of observation and reading.

Group funded by George Soros targets popular websites

A liberal activist group heavily tied to the White House and funded by billionaire George Soros is now attacking the popular Drudge Report website for “funneling” millions of readers to WND.

Think Progress is also tied to the controversial Media Matters for America and is funded by the main financier of MoveOn.org and ACO
RN.

Honestly don't remember what it was on. Was not doctored. Just him sounding like a complete idiot, even mentioning Bane as the "fire-breathing" villain. Can claim out of context or doctored all you want but he said it & made himself look out of touch & stupid.

I don't really care about Rush one way or the other personally, I just know he looked stupid even asking if it was coincidence or not. Your text about him outing the liberals for this just added to the idiocy IMO.

World Net Daily is as biased towards the right wing as Huffington Post and others are biased towards the left wing. If you are so tied up about biased websites, you wouldn't bother with WND either... unless you're one of the many that will cry liberal bias in the media but do nothing about media outlets that skew heavy to the right.

And please spare me the rhetoric of the whole "battle in the trenches/once great nation" because this nation is still great. I frankly don't care if your world view has been shaped by 7 or 70 years of reading and observation. If you can't see that, you've got the problem.

No, he just says stupid things. He's an 'entertainer' who maintains his popularity by stirring up the easily stirred.
