I have to admit to being wrong about Zelensky. When he was accusing the US of overreacting before the invasion, my thoughts were why did the people elect a comedian. Turns out, he may well be the definitive leader of my lifetime. He is courageous and has an enormous amount of love for his country ... the right man at the right time. I'm amazed he is still alive.

I don't see a way out unless NATO/US get involved. Putin is a cornered bear (no pun intended.) He has no logical way out of this that doesn't end in embarrassment or bloodshed. I think he'd choose death over embarrassment.

If he takes Ukraine and we sit by, he'll go for more. He's already threatening Finland. I don’t see the world sitting by while he kills and gobbles territory.

His tactics are begging the west to get involved, by design. This is more of a draw offsides so he can get the big boys involved and possibly start a nuclear war.

Most of us have lived under a vague threat of nuclear war all of our lives.

I dont pretend to know how to stop someone with that mindset - & honesty don't know what he hopes to get out of starting WW3.

In the First Chechen War, the Russian army lost badly.
In the Second Chechen War, they lined up artillery hub to hub and leveled Grozny. Russians are not concerned with civilian casualties.

These guy (using open sources) tag units with unit designations.
The 1st Tank Army is based near Moscow and is one of the best the Russians have. They were even the task of seizing Kharkiv.
The real bummer is that the Russians have gotten across the lower Dnieper. That is a significant barrier. Now they are across it.

I wish anonyms would go after the GOP Putin supporters like they are Russia, including ruining Trump's life by hacking everything he owns and releasing everything to the public. I can't imagine what they could uncover real quick if they went after Trump.

Screw the IOC. Russian athletes should have already been banned from the Olympics for all the cheating but they didn't have the balls to do it. Now they are asking others to do their dirty work. Hey IOC, how about you step up first and ban them indefinitely from all Olympic sports.

They were running truck after truck loaded with thermobaric missiles on them. They used those in Aleppo, helping depopulate it. I could not believe they actually let Pleitgen from CNN stand there and take pix of them. I guess they just don't care...

If the Ukrainians hadn't been in denial, they would have prepared those bridges for demolition...

One thing which some of us have been discussing offline is Putin's probable treatment with steroids. He's developed the typical "moon face" and he's isolating himself from contact, probably because his immune system would be severely impaired. Couple that with the personality changes noted by persons dealing with him regularly and it equals a real dilemma. One frequent side effect is aggressiveness and grandiloquence...

Alternatively, he could have Cushing's Syndrome from a benign or malignant source. This "genius" is not behaving logically. It's one thing to be bold and take a calculated risk. He's either badly miscalculated or lacks insight into the consequences of his actions due to a mental health issue.
