Reading the rest of the article, which points up the logistics problems of the Russian army. They have the same problems with ammo and POE that they have with food. Another thing along those lines I'd point out - The Russians have shortened their supply lines somewhat, now that they've given up on a 180 degree pincer movement (which could never have succeeded without a quick surrender by the Ukrainians), they still have horrendous supply lines and they're not too good at it. OTOH, the Ukrainians have relatively short, interior supply lines...

The advantage of the defender vs the aggressor.

Well, at least when the defender is surrounded. :) One thing I've noticed is the extreme nimbleness of the Ukrainians, in contrast to the Russians, who appear to be stuck in the mud, sometimes literally. Last night, on CNN, they had a piece on the volunteer force of drone operators. When the Russians finally caught on that they were not safe, parked on the highway from Belarus to Kyiv, and pulled off into the woods, these guys sniffed them each out and gave the coordinates to the Ukrainian artillery and predator drones. Then they mopped them up, one tank and APC at a time. One officer commented that it appeared that the Russians were fighting a 20th century war and the Ukrainians a 21st...

Bazza, he trying to be cool and young and hip. Which only a few of us can achieve! :)
Actually not. I'm just lazy. My fingers ache from typing "Ukrainians." :) Worse yet, my main desktop is down while I wait for a new power supply to come in tomorrow and I'm having to use a an 8-yr old laptop, which requires me to squeeze my elbows together to type. My abbreviations may start to resemble a teenager's texts before I can get the real keyboard back...

We had a story in the newspaper about a local man from Hartselle that is going the join the Ukrainian Foreign Legion. he had served four years in the Marines, but was posted stateside and never saw combat. He said he has all this training he doesn’t want to not use so he flew over there yesterday. He was born in Viet Nam and raised here.

Drones and effective anti tank systems like the Javelin will slowly bring the end of the big main battle tank. I’ve been reading that the Javelin can effectively neutralize any MBT including our own M1.

I heard a discussion this morning on tv, it was suggested Ukraine needed weapons to go after the Russian Navy. I wonder what it would take? Could drones get the job done?

As far as supporting Ukraine, I’d like to see us go ”all-in” and overwhelm Russia with weaponry.
