I'm afraid they will just back up and pound them the way they did Grozny...
That seems most likely, but I don't think the Chechen's were as well equipped as the Ukrainians are. And there were far fewer Chechens than Ukrainians.

Also be interesting to see if the weapons the West is sending over help tip the tables...

I'm hoping the Ukrainians beat the odds and kick those russian donkeys.

Of course, that's my hope also. However, even given what you say about the Chechens, the Russians have held off heavy bombing because the sacred monuments of Kyiv are sacred to them also, as the cradle of the imperial Rus. But they will do it to conquer it. It's driven by Putin's ego. We haven't really given them anything effective against aerial bombing with dumb bombs from altitude. Stingers only go up to 12K' or so...
