Perhaps he means the US has agreed to replace the jets that NATO members will provide to Ukraine. Poland is not going to give their jets away otherwise.

How many trained pilots does Ukraine have without an aircraft to fly? NATO members moving some MiG’s to SE Poland seems like half of the equation If there are not enough qualified pilots.

I guess it doesn’t matter because a prevailing thought is Putin will invade Poland next. But, this is the excuse Putin will use to invade Poland, NATO be
damned. I think we are watching the beginning of WWIII. My only hope is we can manage a conventional war if that happens. My HOPE.😢

Ukraine has pilots with experience in type without an aircraft, Poland wants to upgrade. Sounds like a win-win.

A question which has crossed my mind also. I remember reading earlier that what Ukraine has are MiG-29s and the pilots are trained in the those models. I understand that these are the planes being discussed for Poland to transfer. And this makes sense from several standpoints. IDK how many MiG-35s and Su-57s (heavy fighter-bomber), the Russians have actually been able to produce over the last few years. I sort of suspect it's going to be MiG-29s against MiG-29s, for the most part. I noticed a couple of days ago that the Ukraine has pilots trained in the A-10 and I know we have surplus of them. They would seem to be about as useful as any other airframe to the Ukrainians at this time. IDK if we've agreed to transfer any, though...

I’ve heard the Mig 29s being discussed will have to be stripped down as they now have NATO weapons systems installed. I wonder if this will diminish their effectiveness as prior Soviet systems will have to be reinstalled with parts from who knows where.

NATO does not own any fighter jets.
NATO member states own fighter jets, but NATO member states can give fighters to Ukraine with no authorization at all from NATO.
Not sure this "tweeter" knows much about the subject, but he is wearing a suit in his profile picture so he must know a lot.
Full banjeaux for that last line.

Russia has the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons on the planet. What is to stop Putin from pressing the button as a last resort? Yeah if it was me I would give him Ukraine and whatever former Soviet territory he wanted before I would push him into using them. ;)

Most of the folks in this country and elsewhere that are slobbering at the mouth for war with Russia probably are the fortunate ones with underground bunkers and years of supplies, enough to ride it out, or so they figure.
No doubt they have played the war games and have calculated their chances to survive and made the necessary moves to give them a fighting chance to survive.

Here is too hoping I am vaporized in the first strike!!! :) ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

I feel certain that he's going to keep pushing for his ultimate goal until he gets slapped.
I'll repeat that I strongly suspect he's very ill and this has pushed his timetable up. What's scary is his cherry-picking the era when the old Russian Empire was at its greatest extent. (In terms of the scope of history, it didn't maintain that for long compared to other empires.) That's what he considers "his." I said it quite a long time back, now, but we've not seen his ilk since Hitler...
