Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
Bama players should pay attention to what's being said about them on social media and take it personal to do better.
They got roasted last season in the media after losing to Vanderbilt and OU and it didn't seem to light a fire under their butts. I don't see why this time would be any different.

I was talking with my neighbor and he said: "Most of the 22 starters from last year are back. Why would anyone expect to see anything different than what we saw last year?"

(The obvious contrast here is to FSU who went out and got 50 new players in the offseason)

I thought about it for a minute because, on the surface, it makes sense. But I was expecting to see something different because:

1) Last year was not acceptable and everyone in the program knows it.

2) This is the second year in the system. I would expect to see improvement as everyone becomes more familiar with the system and expectations.

and 3) We have a new QB who is better suited for this offense and a highly regarded OC. I would expect that to make a difference.

In the immortal words of Lee Corso after one of his picks was way off the mark: "Boy, was I wrong!"

I'm not sure Grubb (or DeBoer) for that matter really completely understand what "good" looks like at this level of college football. What Proctor did Saturday was not even in the same area code with "good". Maybe that was good at Fresno or Sioux Falls, but not here.
