bama and florida even out
He says after his visit that UF and UA are his co-leaders. But in that same interview he said that distance will play a factor in his decision. Tuscaloosa is over 600 miles away, Gainesville is about 140. He is a good looking player but he will most likely be doing the Gator chomp in 2010. But we will get several good DB's in this class. I think he's a great safety prospect. Would love to get him, but distance will be a factor. However, there's no need to worry with so many great DBs available this year.

Dowling is a great player, but I think first we need to lock up Alabama. And there's a guy from Mobile, Jarrick Williams, who is just as good and I believe Alabama is his leader

If distance really is a major factor for Dowling, he's at least staying in-state, and he'll probably end up at Florida. We'll see how it plays out, though. Nearly every kid says distance is a factor this early in the process, and that's not always how it shakes out.

Either way, I'm not overly worried about things. Defensive back is clearly the priority of the 2010 recruiting class, and I'm sure Saban and company will bring in a plethora of talented prospects.

We will more than likely land Williams. But outside him and Milliner it is entirely possible that the rest of our DB's will come from out of state. And some estimates of the number of DB's we take range from 5 to 7 at this point.

A lot of time for CNS and Co. to change Mr. Dowling's mind. I think we all know that if anyone can it's CNS. :)

I edited the title and I will add this link to explain.

Alabama now even with Florida for Jonathan Dowling
ESPNU 150 Watch List safety Jonathan Dowling previously stated that Florida was his leader. However, after attending Alabama's junior day, the Crimson Tide have caught the Gators, ESPN affiliate Web site GatorCountry.com reports.

"It was perfect man. I had a good chance to compare everything between the two schools. It made this decision even tougher," Dowling said. "Before the junior day it was just Florida, Florida, Florida. Now it's Alabama and Florida... they are both tied now."

I agree that the instate prospects will look our way.

I would like to see them work on bringing in Garry Peters of Conyers, GA. I have not seen him play yet but I will this fall.

A lot of people in the area think he is a great athlete and will do well at the CB spot at 6'1" and 180 he should grow a bit plus 4.5 speed is always nice.

Problem is that Conyers is only a 25 minute drive from UGA so there is a lot of red and black in that area.
