Saban Contacts Offensive Coordinator at Boise State

Personally, I am just glad that Nick Saban is serious about getting a top-notch staff. The fact that he saw the Boise State game, wanted to go after one of the hottest offenses in college football all in his first 72 hours on the job speaks volumes to where CNS is going to take the Tide.

I guess this means Jimbo isn't coming either. Why anyone would turn down Bama to stay at Boise State is beyond me. Even if he's next in line to be head coach, it's still more prestitious and profitable to be OC at Alabama.

I just find it odd that Saban would decide to put his whole offensive scheme in this guys hands based on one game. Not saying he is lying but it seems kinda odd. Maybe Saban talked to him about coming but did he actually offer him the OC position? Only two people know.

Wasn't the team undefeated for the season thus more to judge on other than one game?

Interesting that a 29 yr old OC under a first year head coach in the WAC would not want to enhance his resume a little further. Maybe the potatos aren't as good here or something.

Their OC knows he the next head coach if and when Petersen leaves.

When their old coach, Hawkins went to Colorado, this is exactly what happened. He probably thinks the same. And, if he leaves, he will not get the chance. Peterson will be like Hawkins in a couple of years if he keeps this up. He will go to a richer and bigger job. I think, when I was living in WA state the past 14 years, that I read where Hawkins, when he left for CO, was only making like $500,000 at Boise St. So, money would be a huge factor to leave.

It's his first year as OC. He was the TE coach before that. I say go for Petersen. I bet he could make more money as Bama OC and find a great HC job afterward. I will have to say after the game against OU, he may be a pipe dream now.
