It still requires timing. The plays in their first two drives were thrown on time to a spot. They were perfect passes.
Yes - Manziel said it was the most physical game he had even played in. Of course, Manziel was not the Manziel that we saw last Saturday at that point either.
There were three passes on the first drive. The first two passes were fly patterns to Evans. Evans was bumped at the line and took the sideline. When JM sees he's even with the DB, Fulton, and there's no over the top coverage, he recognizes mismatch and throws the ball. There's no timing involved. He's either open or JM looks for #2.
The touchdown was to the TE (#85) who turned and looked for the ball way before the ball was thrown. He was wide open when JM threw the ball. Again, no timing involved. In fact, JM bumped into the running back.
Drive 2, there were two passes, both to Evans. The first was another fly. C. Jones missed the jam and Evans was wide open. The second was when Evans caught the ball OB just out of the end zone. That one may have been timed.
I'm not trying to be argumentative. In fact, I really enjoy your posts and your contribution, it's some of the best on the board. I'm just saying LSU is not going to be able to game plan to be physical with these guys and be successful. I think JM makes the pass to the open receiver or mismatch, goes to #2, scrambles and keeps if there is open field or heaves it down field.
