Such a sad tragedy. There is really no way to express how much you can hurt for a family that goes through this. My prayers go out to you and your family, Bob.

I'm just getting home from the hospital. Gina was able to sit up tonight, so maybe tomorrow she'll move to a private room. Thanks so much for the prayers and good wishes.

Coach Saban was in town Thursday with a couple of the players for something at the Civic Center. Somehow he heard about it, heard that Shane was a huge fan, and he sent an autographed football to the hospital with his prayers and well-wishes. He's a class individual, and I hope he retires from Alabama (in like 20 years).

God Bless You All from both of us
Bob (bmcklv) and Jan (Roll Tide)

I am so sorry for you and your familys loss. I wish there was something that I could say, all I can tell you is I will keep your family in my prayers. A friend of mine was giving her testimony some time back, and she had lost a teenage son in an auto accident. And something she shared was even in midst of her pain and loss she held onto her faith and remembered that God is not the creator of tragedy, but is the healer of tragedy. Praying that that healing will come sooner than later. Again, very sorry for your loss.

If words were sufficient we each would write a book - I cannot imagine the family's grief. Time is both a chance to heal and to grow from the grief. Know that God loves you and your family and loved your grand-son more than human hearts can comprehend. My prayers.

I've thought about this tragedy every time I've looked at my son this week. I keep thinking about Rick Burgess, and how he says these things have to have a purpose...

God bless y'all. And so glad to hear what Coach Saban did.

Update: They had Gina out of the bed today and made her walk a few steps. Soon they will be able to remove some of the tubes they have in her. We're all hopeful that she'll be out of ICU within the next 2 days. Thanks for all of your prayers; they mean a lot to me as well as the rest of the family. God Bless,

I just want to echo what Bob said. We are so thankful for the prayers and support from everyone here. Please continue to pray for my Gina and for Shane's father, Darren Malone. He is devastated beyond words.

We Love you guys,

Jan

They've got Gina on semi-solid foods, now. If her chest tube comes out tomorrow, she'll get to go home on Tuesday!!, but then we have to plan Shane's burial.

Please remember us in your prayers.
