First of all, let me answer some questions that were in another thread. Matt Bentley indeed separated his shoulder in some drills the other day. He will be fine. Jimmy Nelson was impressive in his three innings on Saturday. 92 and some sink on his fastball. I can see why Coach Wells and staff are high on him. I talked to Miers Quigley and he said everything is fine. He just didn't pitch on Saturday.

What was interesting Saturday was Alex Avila playing first and Jake Smith catching. I thought Jake did a good job behind the plate receiving and blocking the ball. He even threw out a couple of runners. Of course this was set up because of the injury to Matt. We might see this until he recovers.

Del Howell looked good on the mound as he was able to keep his pitches down in the zone. He also is swinging the bat very well as he hit a bomb and a double.

One thing that is very obvious is the staff. Mitch Gaspard and Dax Norris are doing a fantastic job with the players. Having these two back is truly a blessing.

I'll try and keep you inform on the scrimmages when I'm able to attend. Those of you that are in driving distance of Tuscaloosa, pencil in February 16 and join us for Fan Day. We (Grand Slammers) were able to reserve the floor of the coliseum so there is plenty of room to host this event. Not to mention parking. So come join us.
