Gottfried Faces Another Strong Schedule in 2005-06
Bama 2005-2006 Schedule

In what has become a trademark for Mark Gottfried-coached Crimson Tide teams, the University of Alabama will face one of the most challenging non-conference schedules in the nation in 2005-06, playing teams from the ACC, A-10, Big East and Big 12 Conferences in addition to its Southeastern Conference slate.

“I think our schedule will again be one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country,” said Gottfried who begins his eighth season at Alabama and has advanced the Tide to four straight NCAA postseason trips. “It’s similar to the last couple of years where we have scheduled a number of the top teams in the country. We will continue to be aggressive and play as tough a schedule as anyone in the country.”
Bama unveils tough men’s basketball schedule
Alabama’s basketball team will face some tough non-conference tests this season, including two meetings with Temple and a New Year’s Eve trip to Oklahoma in a schedule which was released Saturday.

The Crimson Tide will play in the Preseason NIT, opening at home against Miami-Ohio on Nov. 15. If Alabama wins that first-round game, it would play two days later against the winner between Memphis and Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the team that knocked the Tide from last season’s NCAA Tournament.

I like the tougher schedules. MG has gotten the program far enough along that we no longer should play "high school' teams. Plus, if you have a tougher schedule, recruiting benefits because the good match-ups equal more tv games and national exposure.

Ticket office doesn't know

if the NIT games will be part of the season tickets package or not. I just talked to them, they didn't even know the schedule was out!

Anyone know if the first NIT is part of the package?

They didn't know the schedule was out? That's sad but not surprising.

My guess is the NIT will not be part of the season ticket package. If Bama wins the 1st game there is a chance the 2nd round game would be in Tuscaloosa.

NIT will be part of season tickets

Got an email back from the ticket office. First game is part of the package, and the second game is charged after Bama wins the opening round.

Guess they were on top of it after all, just had to get to someone futher up the food chain.
