It was just reported on Sportscenter that Rutgers Coach Schiano has talked to Michigan. He better jump while his name is still hot.....:):):)

Dang . I'm pulling for Brian Kelly . If all fails , there's still the forgotten one - Frank Solich .

Yes, ESPN said they met to discuss the job.

In other words, Schiano is expected to sign an extension with Rutgers by next week.

We'll believe you as long as it wasn't scrolling across that little ticker at the bottom of the screen. :)
No, they reported it first...then had a little interview with some guy about it.

Besides, it's not ME you have to believe...it's ESPN...and I almost agree with BET about that.

Re: Schiano Talks with Michigan........

Coach Schiano would do that program well. He is young and intelligent. The players would benefit greatly with his leadership. The Players at Rutgers respond positivily when Coach Schiano calls upon them. Yes he would make a great Michigan Head Coach. :BigA:
I agree. But I just visited a UM forum, and I didn't see one fan that felt the same way. They consider him more of the same...too conservative, run it up the gut...Lloyd Carr, Jr.

I don't know what else they would expect of him...with Ray Rice in his backfield!

Very interesting. I'm still surprised tubs hadn't been mentioned...

Anyway, I was wondering if UM was ever actually going to consider anyone "outside" of their branchless family tree. Good for them.

Next step, don't schedule any more 1-AA powerhouses.. Just stick to the big 10/11, as that's much easier pickings! :BigA:

Schiano would be the dumbest man on earth to turn down UM for the PSU job that MIGHT come his way. If he doesn't have a signed contract with PSU he should be all over this Michigan deal.

(yes I'm an expert on these things now)

He'd be a nice pick. A yankee head coach at a yankee school. UM recruits well and only plays one real game a year. A bad year is 8-3. It's a cushy job. I'd take it.

Not dogging Shianno at all, but I find it hard to believe this would be it for Mich. Hes good, but I just think good wouldnt be good enough. I dont know who Id go for, but man if true, I think Mich vs Bama would be a pretty fun out of conference game. Can we schedule that one please?

Hes good though, dont get me wrong....

Ah, but it's a Yankee coach at a midwestern school. Subtle difference to you, maybe, but a critical one to them, and apparently, a potential hold up.
I see. I never considered Michigan midwestern. Maybe southern Canada. :D
Everyone has their hangups about where people are from. Some people have considered Saban a yankee as he's from WV. But that's a whole 'nother discussion aight.

A quick reference as to whether or not someone is a Yankee:

Yankee: doesn't use "y'all", prefers "you guys."

Y'all can use that simple reference tool in case you aren't sure about someone.

WV'ans are no Yankees, aight? Aight!?!
Well said, well spoken.. WV is no more "yankee" than VA.

My travels used to take me to Huntington WVA, home of Marshall U. and the entire area seemed much like a depressed Jasper or Parrish AL. Lots of coal mines etc.

In fact Walker County was more like West Palm Beach compared to Huntington..IMO
