92, you’re like me, you’ll be supporting the players on the field wearing Crimson and White. My entire life doesn’t revolve around being “right” on a sports board. That being said, if Ty is the starter, RTR. If KR or AM earns the job, RTR. We’ve sure come a long way from suspending someone for posting in the 2019 LSU game thread: “Golding is in over his head.” It’s an all out siege on a now former player on pretty much every thread on this sight and it involves people who should know or used to try to be better.
*sigh*

Well, maybe he could convince him to balance the offense.........you need running and passing
They’ve been together for the bulk of their careers. It’s not like Grubb has an offense that’s separate from CKD’s. If he comes, it’ll be a good thing because of their trust and relationship.

And they’ll either learn to run to control games or they’ll end up coaching elsewhere. But I have a feeling they know that already

“excuse me waitress, can you add a couple of strips of extra crispy despair to my order? And my grits? Extra gloomy with just hint of misery please….”
"Yes ma'am, I'll have that extra smothered."

Waitress: "911, please hurry! This man just walked in and has now barricaded himself in a large Alabama blanket and is crying."

I may have to retract my initial enthusiasm, I'm reading this SI article and some of it is pretty telling and has me thinking perhaps there are better fits for our program, read on:

They go on to describe the rest of the season, the seahawks found a rhythm in the following games after this with 4 wins, mostly by running the ball. However Grubb continued to show his unwillingness to utilize the run

"Disillusioned and incompatible. There wasn't any other decision that could be made by Mike."

I don't know about you guys but I have always seen the running game as a vital part of any championship caliber team, you need to establish the line of scrimmage at will. Ryan Grubb's shown a complete disregard for the running game, and if you guys are okay with yelling RUN THE BALL at the TV every saturday, perhaps we might could find a better fit for the Crimson Tide. I like having stud feature Running Backs. We have a long tradition and established history of running backs, in fact my uncle will tell you that there was a USC running back that ran up and down Alabama's backside that initiated integration into the football program back in the civil rights days. Now that last bit is a stretch but other points remain.
Sheesh.

We will have fans having aneurysms while posting in game threads if such a thing occurs in an Alabama game next year.

I'm not sure if Grubb was his OC at all these stops, but 2020-2021 he (DeBoer) was at Fresno St, 2022-2023 he was at Washington and at Alabama in 2024. He needs a QB...

EDIT: Grubb was at all of these previous stops prior to 2024.

So these stats raise the key question : "Can a pass-happy offense win a national championship?" Anyone who thinks the answer is "Yes" then DeBoer and Grubb are your men for the job. Anyone who thinks "No, that's not how Saban did it" then DeBoer and Grubb are not your men for the job. I lean a little bit toward the "No" camp right now but am anxious to see if it possibly can be done.

Well, I ran a table that shows the total rushing yards in the National Title Game by the winning team.

2024Michigan Wolverines303
2023Georgia Bulldogs254
2022Georgia Bulldogs140
2021Alabama Crimson Tide157
2020LSU Tigers165
2019Clemson Tigers135
2018Alabama Crimson Tide184
2017Clemson Tigers91
2016Alabama Crimson Tide138
2015Ohio State Buckeyes296
2014Florida State Seminoles148
2013Alabama Crimson Tide265
2012Alabama Crimson Tide150
2011Auburn Tigers254
2010Alabama Crimson Tide205
2009Florida Gators249
2008LSU Tigers152
2007Florida Gators156
2006Texas Longhorns289
2005USC Trojans289

Those are respectable rushing yards in the title games, only Clemson won a title with less than 100 yards rushing.

Ryan Grubb's Seahawks offense in 2024:

In the 2024 NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks accumulated a total of 2,053 rushing yards over 17 games, averaging approximately 120.8 rushing yards per game
This performance placed them 28th in the league for rushing yards per game

It is funny how many times that lesson presents itself, over and over.
Run the ball, play good defense. "Same as it ever was."
