SEC Preview and Predictions: Week 9

Jess Nicholas, TideFans.com Editor-In-Chief

Last Week’s Record: 7-1 (87.5%)
Season’s Record: 68-12 (85.0%)

We’ve been averaging less than two losses per week here at the Predictions Dept., but keeping up that streak will be a chore this week. Week 9 looks to be the hardest week to pick correctly that we’ve seen yet in 2025. It might not be the week of the biggest games – Ole Miss-Oklahoma is probably the marquee game of the lot – but most of the matchups could go either way.

Good stuff and absolutely correct on the difficulty of the picks. You could have gone the other way on every one of those close ones and it would also be logical predictions. Chances are though, you will hit it about 50%. Funny about the barney write up. Petrino at the barn as the next coach...hilarious.

I could absolutely see Lane and Ole Miss laying an egg in Norman this Saturday with some post-Georgia collapse hangover, especially if his and Jimmy’s heads are in the clouds a little over any incoming overtures from other programs.

The only disagreement for me is I still see A&M as a pretty tough team. They will not lose to LSU ... a team which seems to fix one area from the previous week, only to have two more areas of importance blow-up on them in the next game.

I like Ole Miss today on the road and I would not be surprised if Texas lost today. The LSU game I think will be very tight unless LSwho’s offense shows up. But I know Nuss likes to give the ball to the other team.
