1. Us coming out in the spread, particularly Verne and Gary's stunned reaction.

2. Florida's first offensive play. They abused FSU all day with that inside shovel pass, and I'll admit, I was worried about it. Reamer sniffed it out like it was cat poop, and cleaned it up in much the same manner.

We got into their heads on both plays, got them off balance, and never let up.

So what will we do for Texas?

Was it CR?... I thought it was Anders.

Watch what Nebraska did defensively...

only we will bring it from a lot of directions and disguise/rotate coverages.

The same offensive gameplan that beat UF will beat UT, too.

There where two "oops" moments that really could have changed the game:

1. On the Gators second play from scrimmage Demps (I think) dropped a pass in the flats that he might have scored on had he caught. That was just a gift from the football gods!

2. When PJ made the tackle on the return he saved a Gator TD.

If both of these go for tds, the closeness of the game is greatly altered.

I liked it best when Tebow threw the pick and Lundquist was forced to say, it might be over for Tebow and Urban Meyer. That was awesome.

There were many moments that stand out to me that kept momentum on BAMA's side;
A major one was the PJ Fitzgerald's tackle on James kick return.
I loved it because PJ just got up and acted like it was routine. Our special teams played extremely well in this game I thought. Going in I was a bit concerned about that.

One other moment or series was when BAMA's defense stopped UF and forced 3-n-out after the half, then BAMA's offense comes back out and drives it. I thought that series of plays set the tone for the finish for BAMA to win.
No doubt the screen pass to Ingram for 69 yds was the door slamming. But to me, the other plays were extremely important facets to the game and the win for BAMA.

That's what I'm thinking as well. The main difference is that UT has some viable deep threats.

But my guess is that we'll have some truly freaky blitz packages ready. Or drop Cody into a shallow zone and let his gravity well disrupt the pass patterns...

IMO, Texas just looks to have more viable deep threats than UF because of the defenses they play against. Cooper, Nelson, Hernandez, Demps, and Rainey are all deep threats. Texas has Shipley, and who else?

Not to mention, UF's OL is MUCH better than UT's, which is crucial to a downfield passing game...

Before the game (right before they leave the field after warmups), Florida gathered around midfield and formed a circle group and were dancing and yelling right next to Alabama. Alabama players hardly glanced at them, just continued to go thru drills like they didn't exist, and then exited orderly and calmly to the dressing room. I relaxed after that.

Just before KO, all my nerves just sorta settled down. I became totally focused on my assignment. No butterflies, just a hard core resolve to do my part; take care of my responsibilities. Focused on the process, not the outcome. Right then I knew it was over! :biggrin2:

There was no gattoraide bath at the end. There's still one more challenge. I did however have a double bourbon to celebrate.;)

The players were gearing up for the Gatorade bath but I never saw who put a stop to it. Was it the players or coaches? I'm glad it didn't happen. Even when we win the NC I hope they don't do it.

Rolando stopped it just like he did every offense we played this year......With a little help from his friends, of course.

When I saw this thread these were the exact two plays that came to my mind as well. That dropped pass on the 2nd play would have been a huge gain, and PJ's tackle definitely saved a TD. Not saying our D wouldn't still have played outstanding the 2nd half and shut them down, but the momentum and feel of the game would have been a lot different had those two plays went UF's way.

I just wanted to say that on the punt return, James would have had to go through 2 more Alabama players to get a TD. Watch the replay. Dre Kirpatrick was already running back ~10 yards downfield and would have easily had the angle.
