I say the double bye is a net negative.

But someone made the point that it seems Nate has reduced emphasis on the SECT as it seems to have had little relevance to seeding in the NCAAT. Not sure I buy that as falling from a 3 to a 4 in this NCAAT probably guarantees an earlier exit unless the team catches fire.
Maybe he likes to tinker with the players during the tournament because it’s very similar to the tournament that matters.

Don't know about Nate, but I heard coach Wimp on his show the other day and said it was always important for him but it really didn't matter as far as ncaa was on seading, if we are a 4 it puts us in the bracket with a 1,and playing the dreaded upset minded 13 seed

I don’t feel so bad now that Florida gets dominated by Vandy and Ole Miss takes Arky to overtime. We got the buzzsaw, instead of the favorable draw we anticipated.

Still, I’m not sure how this team advances past the first weekend. Hopefully they do catch fire.
We are a 4 or 5. Really doesn’t matter much. We likely will see Texas Tech, Wisconsin, maybe Virginia in rd 2

Alabama had a charge called on them when the defender had a foot in the air when contact was made.

They still missed seven free throws, so I can’t throw this on the refs.
Yeah, I don't blame the refs. It is frustrating how the hand checks (many blatant pushes and holds) are no longer called. A big chunk of Coach Oats's gameplan is to drive to the basket to score or get fouled. The new way of calling games has weakened this strategy.

Players cannot get started on their drives due to fouls that are not being called. Folks that have played the game with a big portion of their strength being a quick step drive and crossover know how just a little hand-check at the right time (e.g. both feet are pretty much off the floor for an instance) can completely stymie the move. Some of these hand-checks and holds that are not called are much more than "a little".
